Yeah that’s what’s great with the Deck.

Even if one day it’s not gonna be poweful enough as a gaming handheld, you can still use it as a poweful admin computer if you have a dock, avoiding a bit of e-wate.

I have all the Playstations except the first one and they’ll probably just become bookshelves or pieces of art when I put my hands on a Steam Machine to go along my Steam Deck.

Yeah PS5 physical discs, even if only holding data to download the game, have the advantage of giving you the ability to resell a game if you don’t enjoy it.

Well if GOG becomes evil, I’ll have all my games stored locally and I can do what I want with them.

While it’s true there is no GOG Galaxy for Linux, I think they sponsor Heroic and it works quite well on Steam Deck to be honest.

I might get pirated games if my Steam Library gets taken away since, contrary to PS5 or GOG, I wouldn’t be able to do anything with my games.

In the end, if I get a Steam Machine, it’ll probably be:

  1. GOG when available
  2. Steam
  3. Playstation for their exclusives

Without the Steam Machine, it’ll be the same but I’ll have to take into account that some games are too demanding for the Deck, so it’ll be PS5 physical.

True, but for this I plan on using a Steam Machine to be able to emulate a PS3 since almost everything after that era is available on PC.

Also it’s be easier for peripherals like the ones you get with Buzz games.

Not really an app, but a way to easily display HEIC pictures, even in preview mode like with Gnome Sushi.

Yeah but I’m kind of psychorigid and I like to establish guidelines😅

I’m not saying he was a good guy, but he ain’t a war criminal and was maybe really nice for all we know so I don’t really understand how you can be happy about such news.

Appimage is fine but it’s annoying to have to download the Appimage for every update instead of just using your software center with a Flatpak.

First world problem though because kDrive is great for me otherwise.

Yeah but buying on GOG also means not being tied to them if they turn evil since you can just copy the game and use whatever launcher.

Well no one really knows the price of the Steam Machine, maybe not even Valve😅

What I know is that I’m not willing to put more than 1000$ to buy it.

Even if Valve said they won’t bleed to make it cheap, I don’t think they can afford to make it so expensive.

We’ll see because everyone is just guessing for now😇

I’ve been using Infomaniak products for the the last few years and I’m very happy with them.

My only complaint is that kDrive isn’t available as a Flatpak and that Linux is a bit of a second zone client to them.

They also have a really good reputation regarding social and ecological behavior.

Their datacenters are heating buildings in my city.

Great because at one point I plan on using a Steam Machine for my racing sim and using it with my Steam Deck hooked to a big screen when playing normal games that the Deck can’t run.

Also available on GOG I think if you want to make sure you’ll be able to play it forever

I still have to play the first one, but it’s great to see that the Deck keeps getting support

What you’re saying is probably true, but I don’t think he deserved to die burned in a crash for such things.

How can it just disappear from your list when it’s a game you bought?

I’d understand why it would not be available to buy anymore, but taking it away from you is crazy.

That’s why I’m always buying GOG when available (or physical on consoles even if it’s doesn’t mean anything anymore).

It’s crazy if they just made it disappear without giving you any notification.

It’d be like a burglary where they put everything back in place so that you don’t notice anything.

I hope it’ll never happen to the games I have only available on Steam.

I don’t really mind if it doesn’t break the immersion or lower the quality of a game.

If it’s some unskipable add or some big billboards for Pepsi in a medieval game, I do mind.

I wasn’t really against Reddit when I left to go on Lemmy. It was mostly to try something which is luving because of its users.

Now I’m glad I did.
