That's the default. It never forces them on you, but there is a UI option for a quick answer. Both the UI option and the "?" shortcut are disabled with the option in settings.

I think they might have changed it. Now they just have the setting to disable quick answers. If you turn on that setting then "?" won't do anything.

If you send it yourself you can!

If the road is closed, and will be for a matter of hours as the crash analysis process is worked through, why isn’t there a procedure to get stuck vehicles off the motorway, by allowing them to turn around and drive up the on ramp?

Right, it seems like it should be pretty trivial to send someone to the previous off ramp to direct all vehicles off, so you could be sure of no oncoming traffic - then start backing cars out. This wouldn't need to be police, you could have a traffic management team (which already exist for road works) sent to the scene.

I guess crashes this severe are reasonably rare so they don't have a team on standby all the time, but surely there is some middle ground option that could be organised.

I've been playing this too. Seems like every time I open it there has been an update with new features added!

Oh thanks for tagging me, I knew this was coming but it hadn't been front of mind. Looks like my calendar is free that weekend so far! Will have to get onto planning something.

What if they objectively made the world a better place? E.g. they were picking off the billionaires?

The documentation says it's possible to send test notification:

That whole notification section is not familiar at all. There is current work to completely redo Monica and when I view their beta at https://beta.monicahq.com/ then it seems to reflect that new version. So I suspect that documentation is wrong for the current version (which hasn't been meaningfully updated in years).

In addition to what rhe other user asked, what do logs say, how are you configuring emails?

Anyone got plans for this weekend?

Last weekend I got a Luanti server up running Mineclonia for the kids, so they can play what's basically minecraft but FOSS. They loved it, so I am expecting more of that this weekend.

I will also set up a vote to adopt a new logo for LemmyNZ (again, but a logo made by someone who knows what they are doing) so keep an eye out for that in the meta community if you're a LemmyNZ user.

And I have the annual census in my sights again. Last years was long, lots of questions and great to know answers but I don't think I want as many for this year. Any volunteers to help me refine the list?

Oh no I hope you're feeling better soon!

I hadn't got too far down the mod track for Luanti, just a furnature mod and a helicopter mod. I had the vehicle mod but the ground has to be flat of the vehicles get stuck 😆

That Ausna world looks awesome, I'll have to look into it. Thanks!

We do a lot of stardew valley too, but that allows split screen co-op so we do up to 4 player with xbox controllers, no need for a server then.

I think what he meant is that showing up 90% of the school days is about half the year. From memory I think 90% is the target.

This article doesn't seem to talk specifically about the prosecuted parents so I understand that he's talking about the general target.

I suspect this very small number of parents being prosecuted are likely to be actually getting their kids there less than half the time, but this is unlikely to be the best way to do it. They cut the middle stuff like school lunches and free busses for kids, so they have just show up or we will prosecute you.

I am not sure I have understood your question, but I will try to answer anyway.

Your console window is in a certain directory. This is like if you open your file browser and go to a certain directory (folder).

You typed "pwd", asking it to print the current working directory (where you are). It told you that you are in your Home folder.

Then you asked it to list out what is in that directory. It gave you a list. Those blue ones ending in / are directories inside your home folder. The white ones are files in your home folder. Is that the list you are referring to?

If you open a file browser and go to your home directory, you would see those files and folders there (assuming the system you are on has a GUI and file browser).

Does that answer your question?

Sweet, I'll set up the vote and let's get this done 🙂

Thanks so much!

Did the article say that? It seems to not mention this case, and refers to Seymour's claim that school is only open half the days of the year so it shouldn't be hard to get them there.

That's great! Are you still playing with ideas or should I organise a vote for adopting it as a new logo?

The US president's pension apparently came about after Truman left office and fell into financial difficulty.

According to that article, it seems pretty rare around the rest of the world.

I guess it comes down to 1. What is it trying to achieve? and 2. Does it achieve it, or meaningfully move things towards that goal?

And to be honest, I don't think I've found any info to answer either of those questions 🤷

Ah that makes sense. I had considered it might be a server but you mentioned a Konsole tab so my mind decided it must have been local machine.

Crazy it took 2 days to restart the server!
