I'm the most socially awkward person I know, and I'm still thinking what the actual fuck at this. Like, you're seriously such an incel you can't carry on a simple conversation? This is peak techbro.
Good call. Thank you for doing what you need to do to support the site and protect the users as necessary. And as always, the honesty and transparency is appreciated.
Ultimately, the world is not a grid. So while grids may be great for pure strategy games like XCom (and I really enjoyed XCom, not knocking it at all), I think a lot of people would say that for more story-focused games like RPGs, they break the immersion. Thus, BG3 (which I'm also really enjoying) does not use one. Neither do any of the party-based RPGs that I can think of off the top of my head. For me personally, it depends on the game. I am perfectly happy without one in BG3. But I enjoyed having one for XCom, and more recently for Warhammer 40k Mechanicus. I would offer that as a suggestion if you are looking for a gridded turn-based strategy game.
I like the choice for a single day of the week - seems a good happy medium.
Honestly, a lot of NSFW subs devoted to somewhat niche fetishes. I saw lemmynsfw.com started up as a separate instance for NSFW content, and I'm hoping at least some of these subs make it over there soon.
No they are not. Birthdays are calculated from the day of birth, hence birthdays. And zygotes are not yet people, no matter what the forced-birthers tell you.
RIF was fun for reddit
Ok, I appreciate what Leslie Jones is saying, and I wholeheartedly support SAG-AFTRA and WGA in their efforts to secure their rights and better treatment for all their members. But who the fuck is the asshole on the left of this video? Why the fuck are we posting these stupid "reaction" videos instead of the original video. There's a place for youtube reactors - I love reaction videos. But these aren't reactors and these videos aren't reactions. They're just assholes stealing someone else's content and putting their own wrapper around it for views. Which is kind of ironic on post about people being exploited and their work and likenesses stolen...
Please stop feeding these people.
You guys are absolutely amazing. So many thanks to you @Ruud and the entire admin/troubleshooting team! Thank you.
US here, live in the vicinity of Boston, Massachusetts. Water is very safe out of the tap - we get an annual report of what's in it from the Mass. Water Resource Authority (MWRA) and it's tested regularly. Tastes good too, if I'm honest. I would say that MOST developed areas of the US have perfectly safe drinking water out of the tap, though it doesn't all taste very good (looking at you, Washington DC). However there are some more rural areas where the water out of tap is not safe for drinking, and where boiling or bottled water is recommended. I remember traveling out west back in 2010 and being surprised at this.
No. And while I will treat those who do with the same level of dignity and respect I grant to everyone, I secretly do think less of them for it (especially when I see them perpetuating the indoctrination with their children).
Current game pet peeve - the delay after each enemy acts in combat in Baldur's Gate 3. I absolutely love this game, but big combats take longer than they should because after each enemy acts, there seems to be a 5-10 second delay before moving on to the next.
Favorite game pet peeve - The overall poor performance/memory management in HBS's Battletech game. Again, love the game, have put nearly 2000 hours into it over the years, but damn the performance can just be painful sometimes.
Glib (though truthful) answers aside, I thought this was a good read. Thank you for posting it.
Once again, thank you for the transparency and for keeping us (the users) informed, as well as for all the work you do to keep lemmy.world going.
Saw it last night, mostly agree with this take on it, though in a bit less glowing terms. I didn't think the emotional payoff alluded to in this review really worked, because I didn't think they'd laid enough groundwork for it. Too much of this movie was more storyboard than story, with not enough time spent on actually delving into these characters' feelings and relationships. That said, it was definitely a fun popcorn flick, with some great action, a good sense of humor, fun characters, and, as the article points out, minimal required external knowledge. And everything said about the publicity was spot on.
THANK YOU FOR THIS!
I just pull out my phone and look at re... er, lemmy
Just signed up myself! Long time RIF/old.reddit user, hoping to find new (better!) communities. Hello everyone!
Ok, maybe not Faerun, but just spitballing here - Total War: Blood War. Massive armies of devils vs demons, with yugoloth mercenary forces for hire, spread across the battlefields of the lower planes. Could tie in nicely with a re-release of Planescape as well...
thanks for using Leebra!
