Its so fascinating how our EU can switch between fucking good decisions and fucking terrible decisions all the time. I hope this will be avoided by the parliament

This sounds so fucked up man. Reddit is really killing itself

No they do not have to install them by themselves but goverment intelligence agencies or police may use them against journalists.

Linux is commonly used for almost everything that is not a home computer.

Without defending the reddit admins as they seem to go bonkers atm but I am genuinely interested if there is any possibility to verify for us any claims made?

I wonder how people come up with the bot superstition? Just a feeling or is there any valid indication of massive influx of bot accounts?

DEUTSCH

I somehow cant see the pictures? Is this a kbin app bug?

I mean you can totally not try to end P2P encryption or allow espionage against journalists by gov agencies. There is nothing power hunger driving them to do so

This is probably the best summary for how tech business works

You can never have 100% security. And tbf I dont think this is a valuable argument if its about basic freedom of media to not fucking spy on journalists.

New to this whole thing myself, but on mobile there is an Icon in the top bar that allows you to switch between different views like local, all and subscribed. Maybe you need to switch the view?

As I am totally new to this whole thing, could you elaborate for me on those reservations about the lemmy developers? And are those the same that created lemmy.world?

What is something someone can gain by swarming an instance or forums like yours with bots? I cant wrap my head around it. Also if someone has an instance and swarms it with bot accounts, it may seem like you got a popular instance but where is the revenue if there are noone who is able to click an ad? Do they do it just for the lols?

Das kannst du ja auch nicht verhindern in Räumen in denen sie generell verboten sind. Ein Verbot an sich verhindert ja noch kein Vergehen. Entscheidend ist das durchsetzen von Regeln

I have some tiny bit of doubts left but at least it does sound like one possible reason for people swarming servers with bots

Thank you for the clarification. Do you have by any chance data at hand about the development of active users? Or may you direct me to a community of where I get these kinde of data?

First time I heard that something like this even exists. If toilet is disgusting I'd rather not use it or clean it myself

Das macht Wifi aber in der Regel auch
