Mid-managers are being given extra allowances for 'team outings'. Then there's 'free breakfast' and other 'free' things. Finally, managers are also being evaluated for the number of people in their team that they can get to come to the office - the more people in their team they can get to come to office, the more pat on the back they get.

It's no longer a debate of whether you are productive at home or in office. They just want you back in office. Simple as that. The why? I don't know.

/Friend works in corporate real estate. "Employees in IT companies just don't want to go back and it's a HUGE headache for companies.." is what he told me (roughly).

Old.Reddit with Reddit Enhancement Suite for years to make the site usable

Hello, dear friend 🤝

I'm still there for the obscure subreddits and for users that are there not because of 'engagement' but for the love of it.

Thanks for sharing about Sublinks. It still has the mouse(?) Lemmy icon BTW. Hopefully, they'll keep the Federation issues in priority. E.g. this (see pic) - I can never see what pic/video is posted on a Lemmy instance. Just this attachment icon and a 'blank'.

For their own sake, hope they don't kill old.reddit.

Never used their official app but only used one 3rd party app, Bacon Reader. I'm not one who likes staring and posting/commenting from my mobile so didn't use that for long.

They know you spend time in the gaming room or ping pong table or gossip with a coffee in your hand at the cafeteria for hours. They still want you back in office. It's no longer an argument. All that 'hybrid' work was just an illusion of choice. Companies are still stuck. Like someone above me said, it's about control.

They just couldn’t because computers weren’t powerful enough yet

Yahoo and ISPs like AOL tried that. And were partly successful. Yahoo was the 'literally' the home page for 90% of Internet users. In India, ISPs were decentralized but it's only JIO or Airtel now, if you 24x7 service and connectivity.

Para 3 and 4 are pretty much a summation many instances in the Fediverse...lol. Not just those using Lemmy.

Good to hear. All the best!

Been a long time since I had one - milk or ice cream. My lactose intolerance is super bad up. Most Indians I know (e.g. my parents) still maintain that we can digest milk in its raw form when we can't, genetically. Oh well!

Mastodon (also, Mashiro's fork) > Pleroma > Akkoma > Rebased. Quite a journey :D

Raised a few issues for Mastodon too which ClearlyClaire and Gargron responded/provided support.

Next up, it's #Kbin :D

Praveen - u_tamtam mentioned what I have been thinking about Prav - what's the rationale for it to exist and why should I choose it over the original?

/Of course, I appreciate the work you and the other volunteers are doing to spread the awareness of XMPP, Privacy, and Security (in India).
