In respect to you guys modding the original r/Android, I will leave this up, unlocked. But please, don't make any more new posts here advertising r/Android V2.

Let the games begin I guess.

Edit: Please read this.

  1. File management is noice, the ability to plug in a USB C usb is very clutch.
  2. I swear a lot more apps on iOS are subscription based than on Android.
  3. A lot more open source apps.
  4. Modded apps.
  5. I can easily connect my phone to my laptop and copy actual files.
  6. Sideloading.
  7. Choice.

Update on the post This post was not made by the mods of @android@Android@lemdro.id. This was made by a fellow fan of r/Android and was not made to siphon/steal users as I and many others have incorrectly assumed, so please don't attack the mods of @android@Android@lemdro.id as they don't mean any harm!

No, we aren't the same. Interestingly enough they have just created a new Lemmy community, but seeing as this already has a few thousand users, unless everyone from r/Android joins that one, this will become the new default Android community.

Edit: Turns out they've made a completely new instance! Check it out at lemdro.id!

personally it's more convenient if there's a mobile app, so I'm using Liftoff right now, until Sync, Artemis or Boost release 😀

it was a subreddit dedicated to a very specific phone model released back in 2019. I realise as I'm typing this that while it wasn't big (<2000), it's small communities that allowed Reddit to become so big.

might make it now in the event anyone is interested I guess haha

just putting it out there: giving them a cheap android phone will steer them away from android forever as they will be conditioned to think that all android are as cheap and terrible as the ones they have been given

hate the fact that chrome killed the bottom address bar.

i use vivaldi and it covers all the bases (and a lot more, heck it even has its own Mastodon server)

Flag as Inappropriate on the app store and review it 1 star or 2 star to avoid mass deletions due to brigading
