I've actually just had my eSIM decision backfire on me.

I switched months ago and hadn't had an issue until I got ready to go to an airport last week. I figured I'd be able to switch off the eSIM and switch on Airplane Mode so my phone could essentially be an offline iPod, but when I landed and tried turning it back on it didn't work. I then found people discussing the same issue on their phones (GrapheneOS + Pixel 7) and really regretted messing with it.

My carrier's account login hilariously requires an SMS 2FA to the phone number that's been yeeted from existence and since I've been staying with in-laws this Christmas I'm not willing to sit on hold for however many hours to recover my account till I get home.

I'm not against innovation in desktop computers I just struggle to understand the use-case for an Agentic OS. I don't know how it would improve anything especially considering how confidently incorrect LLMs are (by nature!)

The Session team claimed this when defending the security of their app and network, even in the face of the Australian government passing laws that allow them to backdoor any local tech companies

If he has uploaded photos of your friend from her social media to his site and she took those pictures, she could have a pathway towards DMCA striking his site down. Talk to a lawyer about it

God I've missed well written Marvel shows. That ending!

Cost of living has gotten to me recently so I've been making my own pizzas and they taste better than dominoes plus they're cheaper. I'm stoked

Dice some garlic, mix it with passata and chopped spinach and that's your sauce. Cheese and sliced tomatoes on top, plus more spinach

Huh. You think read receipts via RCS could make it worse? Obviously Google would probably have to make an exception to allow for this but hey "Don't Be Evil"

I've done something similar by mixing two extensions together in times where unlock origin wasn't keeping up with YT changes (ad muting extension plus auto skip extension). It worked really well for when you had the video in the background of a game or work, and if I were solely watching the video it was just a trigger for a phone break during the video

More than that are they just ignoring windowing an application and resizing it to fit? You know, the namesake of their operating system?

Commenting to say fantastic choice in music!

When I get those it's pretty well fitting into the video though. The YouTuber will already be putting together a 3d printing or pcb project and the sponsorship seems to improve their overall product (more than doing it in house)

I'm just buying it at this point but it gets discounted pretty regularly

Casefile. Would recommend an earphone if you have a partner hahaha

I've seen this ad here in Australia where cell towers are essentially all owned by a single telecomm (Telstra), who leases them out. No idea how their cell network could be private given that info

To be fair I just follow a collection of subs and never switch to the local or all tabs. You don't seem to have to see your own instance all that often if you don't want to

I was learning how to play guitar using ultimate-guitar.com. They have their normal tabs which are HTML and "pro" tabs which download in a format you need to pay for their software to use. Found the program TuxGuitar and it was amazing. Only learned years later as I was delving into Linux that it's named after Tux and is open source.

Yeah I just wasn't thinking clearly be it early morning or lack of coffee or both. I definitely won't repeat this mistake so its a learning moment now

KOReader. You can put it on android or your e-reader and when you sync the feeds it converts them to .epub format

I'm using antennapod because I had suspicions based on the ads I was getting that PocketCasts was selling the info of podcasts in my queue/listening history. After that I read their privacy policy to confirm that's something they do and deleted my account/the app

edit: important to add, I had a paid subscription account and they still appeared to be selling data on me

A lot of these are also AI slop nowadays too
