Right now I'm just using it for an AirGradient dashboard, which is an open hardware / open software air quality monitor. I used claude to rewrite the firmware to send the data to prometheus instead if their own servers, and countless other frustrating changes because they make the whole operation dependent on a connection to their servers...anyway, I didn't want to pay a subscription for something so simple. I've thought about using it for some other projects, but for a lot of stuff I just don't see the need for a dedicated dash.
Dan Carlin did a mini episode of Hardcore History about torture and execution and the first like 20 minutes is him talking about the morality and psychology of consuming it as entertainment and hypothosizing how that could come to be in modern times. Aaannd we're here.
I bought a Dreame L10s ultra gen 2 per rtings.com and I like it. It was their "mid-tier" choice at the time and I got it OEM refurb for half cost. I agree that it doesn't fully replace mopping or vacuuming, but it helps keeps things cleaner day-to-day until I do a full clean. I eschew the manufacturer branded bags and detergents for cheaper alternatives so that helps.
The drives for my media server are recertified enterprise grade 16tb instead of brand new consumer 8tb. doubled the capacity for like only 20% above what consumer is selling for. RAM screwed me tho. Couldn't find a way around that one.
Here's a study that claims night owls are "cognitively superior" and that whatever chronotype you are, you must organize your life around that.
Here is a study that claims you are not beholden to whatever chronotype you think you are, and can retrain yourself.

And here's a study that suggests there are actually 6 chronotypes.

brb, i need to decide if I am a moderately active chronotype or a daytime sleepy chronotype and what effect that will have on my chances of requiring a disability pension or developing diabetes.
So I guess they managed to hack deeper than the employment records afterall. You can absolutely never trust the first reporting on breaches.
My BIL asked me how I was streaming sports so I sent him the site and he complained that the site i sent him to had a bunch of ads. I always forget there are people in the year of our lord 2026 who still don't use ad blockers. I thought web condoms were widespread by now.
There's no such thing as Cubs fans, there are only Wrigley Field fans
"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security."
Cisco has a prompt engineering course that counts for CE credits. I know because it was one of two free courses available that I used to recert recently. Welcome to hell.
"I pretended to be the person I wanted to be until I became that person, or he became me." Attributed to Cary Grant. On the days I wake up feeling miles away from the person I want to be, I can pretend.
"All experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed."
Can I take the over on diarrhea epidemics on Kalshi? This country went from Hope and Change to resembling a Paul Verhoeven movie so fast I have whiplash.
The bizarre bans is what made me leave recently. Banned from a default sub i had been in for years for posting a link. There was no rules against links and the reason given was "we don't like the link" then told "we don't have to give warnings" when I asked why I would be permanently banned for doing something that isn't against the rules. Then that same thing happened in another sub the next day. I don't know what's going on there but it's almost like they want to cull the users who aren't conforming to the way they want the content to be ingested.
Because if you want to see anything outside of your constructed bubble, you will have to add it intentionally. There are plenty of communities i wouldn't know about because I'm new. By using all or popular, i can stumble upon things from time to time.
You look the way I feel.
They aren't really dad shoes anymore, lots of young people wear them now. And socks damn near to their knees.
Begun, the AI wars have.
