As a Gamer-American myself, let me assure you, Dilberg is in no way meant to be representative of our people writ large.

as much discriminatory elements as possible

Alright fine, this one worked, I'm taking the bait. Is this just "they targeted gamers. GAMERS." or are you actually seeing discrimination in this comic?

Who? Where? Let's get him!

Bro, for real. I just want to practice phase two Radahn with my build, but it's such a slog just to get him there and then survive long enough to figure out the moveset.

I have been, doesn't mean I like it. It's been a big time investment on my part.

This isn't really the message of the comic, which is more about the direction of FromSoft's boss design, but it also kinda sucks to struggle and persevere with a fun, wacky build throughout the entire DLC only to be met with a brick wall at the very end because I'm not playing the right way. So I'm faced with the options to either change the build I've been loving to something cheesier/easier, put in even more time at the same boss going through the motions and slowly learning over the course of hours, or just quitting because I have other games to play and there's nothing after the boss anyways.

Ultimately, I understand that this is all to do with my own stubbornness/principles, but I still think it indicates a flaw in the 'balance' of the game where I could easily end the suffering by just parrying or poking with a big ass shield in hand, but quitting gets the same results, is faster, and somehow feels more rewarding. /rant

Did you know that you can mix in a little truth when you're spreading falsehoods in order to lend yourself some credibility? It's a neat trick because some people, evidently, expect liars to only tell lies.

lol, the general vibe is all you need, but know that I sympathize. That rant wasn't very fun to draw either.

Oh yeah! Geez, ok, I see the similar theme in the last panel. Oof. To be completely honest, I was mainly thinking about 'The Terminator' and a time loop when I made this. What can I say, besides "South Park did it! South Park did it!"

Oh god, is it? Haven't seen South Park in forever, you know which episode?

Alright, let me ask you both: isn't expecting a message like "everything worm-man says is wrong" or "everything worm-man opposes is good, actually" a little too simplistic? Don't we want a little nuance, even in our absurdist, 2-panel comic strips? I feel like I shouldn't have to spell out that the worm-man is capable of mixing fact and fiction to muddy the waters, but here we are.

I exaggerate of course, for da sake of da humor. But those last two things in the final panel are real rationalizations that real people have said to me to defend their continued twitter use. It's hard for some people to break habits even when the logical reasons to do so mount.
