I find this too prohibitive. Even with the exception this would make me think twice about a promo post and maybe even refrain me from posting at all. For non-except services it is even worse. It may lead to spam posts or users trying to categorize contributions into useful and not useful posts.

Self hosting does not end for everyone with free services. Some of us are happy to pay for services provided by others and I would really like to read about these here as well. I know this is not the intention of the rule, but it will be its result.

As long as it's self-hosted I don't have a problem with it. Plex is maybe a good example for this. I wouldn't ban Plex questions as long as it isn't just a weekly advertising post. Up- and down voting can handle the rest.

You're right, but Liberty City Stories has.

If you list GTA 4 and 5 you should also list GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas.

The 89 cents were probably on sale too. So the only thing you could say is that the sale is not as good as ten years ago.

Without a proposal by the commission the parliament can't decide anything. The parliament can request them to do such a thing, but the reason the commission does not propose such a law at the moment will not change.

I don't think so.

Maybe you can further elaborate why you think it is a bug. And maybe you could provide a screenshot showing what you mean.

That way Firefox has to submit a different app for Europe, splitting its userbase and making it more complicated for developers. They are pulling every trick they can...

You may want to change the title and include the word "protection"...

The funny thing is: This will work against them regarding the EU DMA regulations. If no one uses their offer it will not be interpreted as nobody wants to use it, but instead it will be interpreted as the offer was unfair.

Three seasons of PIC were already a mistake. The only good thing coming from it is the possibility of a Riker cooking/baking show (which I would totally watch).

Discourse exists and is free to self-host and open source. Compared to classic forum software (like most *bb variants) it is a pleasure to use and feels not like a remnant of a lost age.

The (only?) downside is the similar name to Discord, but that's not them to blame, because they had their name first.

Lamborghini Huracan: fast and exciting

Fiat Panda: outstanding fuel efficiency

Trucks: lots of hauling space

Why not build trucks with the chassis of a Lamborghini and the motor of a Panda. It would solve all of our problems...

My dishwasher automatically selects it's Eco program when powered on. The Eco program uses more water and more energy than the Auto program while also taking almost twice as long. So I have an automation that triggers when my dishwasher is powered on and then selects the Auto program for me - because pressing a button to change the program after loading the dishwasher would be too much to ask.

The creator's GitHub account is in limbo. He can see everything just normal, but for everyone else it's just a 404. GitHub support is informed but unresponsive.

There is a Matrix chat where the creator posts updates (although there is not much to update): KitchenOwl

There is no reason to believe that the latest version available on Docker Hub (0.7.7) is compromised in any way. If you want to play it safe use 0.7.6 (3 months old).

Just because the source code is available it does not mean it is free to use and do with it what you want. The license explicitly states that you may use it but have to publish it for free and follow the Steam subscriber agreement. Also this is just source code, not the assets (at least as far as I understand it).

You could use a classic dead man switch: Place several buttons around the whole place - basically everywhere except in the shower. Once you stop pressing any of these buttons for - let's say - 30 seconds you can assume you're taking a shower.
