My birthday is September 10. September 11 2001 happened. While I'm not directly affected, it messed me up mentally because I thought I had something to do with it. It didn't help that the year after, I saw Space Shuttle Columbia on the launch pad in what would be its final mission.
I'm consciously trying to be done with political discourse and just talk about it to clarify where I stand on things or to learn something new.
It's either a circlejerk (with your allies) or a five minutes of hate (towards your enemies) online and I have better things to spend my time. There's only so much that I can control. I'd rather focus on that.

I used to have a strong sense of cultural cringe on being Filipino because of the problems the country faces.
I can only speak for myself. At a time when I'm exposed almost exclusively to local sources, I thought that the Philippines is so bad, the rest of the world so good, that foreigners see us as invaders wanting to take their jobs and money. I also thought that we lacked the self-awareness to realize it and we unknowingly taint the so-called better nations with our presence. That the only cure is to completely purge yourself of your Filipino-ness.
Nowadays, the sterotypes I read about are usually positive (kind, hospitable, etc.) or occupational (maids, nurses, marinersβat least they're not criminal professions).
I saw the 3-episode premiere. The sexual assault scenes are limited to that episode. You should be fine.
I look like I'm straight out of school, sometimes people explain things to me like I know nothing.
Not that I think they're automatically malicious. Sometimes I find myself in the "explaining" position because I think not explaining makes me sound I'm cooped in an ivory tower.
It's actually 2x32. My skill issue in finding the exact part in the site. It's fixed now.
Thank you. Glad you like it.
I got my first 5G-capable phone noong Dec 2023, right before I visited PH from a sizeable city sa US. Mas nauna ko pang maranasan ang 5G sa Manila kesa dun sa local area ko.
Interesting. It's both the feeling and the act for me.
In Filipino, it's usyoso
Mods are asleep, but you can still post here.
No, I'm Embarrassed.
Barrios underpeformed. Pacquiao overperformed. Manny's still got it, though we won't see him fight like he used to.
AM: DZMM mainly because of its iconic theme
FM: 96.3 Easy Rock Manila, 96.3 WRocK Cebu, 97.9 Home Radio - I like easy listening stations
Musopen: Not a Filipino station, but it's public domain classical music. We should promote open music more
Used to listen to 99.5 Play FM. I don't know what good Top 40 stations are still there after that station stopped the format
Increasingly common Hoopla W.
Kanopy also has a good selection. They've got a few Sentai stuff and was surprised when I saw Amagi there of all things.
Ended up getting a new and larger coffee maker because more than one person will use it now. Thanks for responding.
