No, nothing he added was correct, he just technically wasn't 100% wrong in what he said on the topic. This is only notable in that he usually is 100% wrong.

Yeah, it wasn't secret government chemicals like he thought, but regular old pollutants. I can't recall if it was medication from insufficiently treated sewage, or industrial runoff, or what, but there really was a case of stray chemicals making some wild frogs gay. So he was a little bit right about gay frogs. He just was, as usual, astoundingly wrong about those chemicals being a secret government plot to turn people gay.

I assumed it was a Linux person making it. As someone who is a Windows user by trade, but a Linux user at heart, I found it quite funny.

It's apps approved by Microsoft. They only made a small fraction of them.

Your example isn't even far fetched. A friend of mine who worked in construction knew a crew of framers whose employer paid them based on the number of nails they used. Of course, they did exactly what their dumb employer should have expected them to do: Use way more nails than needed. Any place a nail would fit, they added one. He said listening to the crew work was literally a non-stop rapid fire thunk thunk thunk thunk as at least one of them was busy emptying his nailgun into the work at any given time. No idea how they stayed in business, but people giving dumb incentives is nothing new.

Well, that's A solution to that particular paradox. If those are someone's beliefs, well they'd be a hypocrite if they didn't have sex with their bros. Or, I guess wives being "impure" after marriage would technically also work. Somehow I doubt they would like that one either. Oh right! Can't forget that the Ben Franklin strategy also solves this paradox.

I'm still just going to stick with my prefered solution of not judging people based on arbitrary sexual standards. Bam, no paradox! It's a strategy I recommend for everyone.

I'm a little confused by the terminology in the headline and article, since IVF stands for in-vitro fertilization in this context. I'm pretty sure that literally means the fertilization takes place inside labware. Unless they are trying to say that they are somehow sticking a petri dish up in there, the usage of the term doesn't make any sense.

The article explains that they really mean some sort of remote control artificial insemination of naturally released eggs, which is an interesting idea, but not IVF. They do use the term in-vivo in places, but you can't just swap which word a letter in a standard acronym stands for without explanation and expect to be understood. Most of the places the article says "IVF" they meant to say "controlled fertilization", except the few places they actually were referring to IVF.

I love that movie. It's my favorite action/comedy/romance Western film.

Accidental for the cops. The photographer and Lady Liberty there knew exactly what photo they were going for, and the cops predictably gave it to them.

Mr President, if we get to November of [2026] and people’s 401(k)s are down 30% and prices are up 10–20% at the supermarket, we’re going to go into election day, face a bloodbath

Wow, I agree with something Ted Cruz said. That doesn't happen often.

fuck you, Ted

And I agree with something Trump said? On the same day, no less. What are the odds?

I clicked the link and read the whole thing. I still am not sure if this is sincere or satire. It's so out there that I kind of hope it is real, and that they find what they are looking for.

Felony false alarm or report under Texas Penal Code § 32.06 for saying she had heard reports of hospitalizations from drinking the water, but the police had not heard any such reports. She's now suing the city, the police chief, and one specific city council member. The mayor talked openly with the news about the water issues, but declined to make any comment on the arrest.

Follow up video: The DA did actually file charges, but a grand jury refused to indict, so the case is over. Another guy from out of town got arrested (on live stream) for holding a sign in front of the police station protesting the arrest. He was charged with a misdemeanor, but the judge dismissed it immediately.

I like the thought, but it won't work. The big websites won't be willing to lose money they don't have to, and like ID laws that give them reasons to extract more data from users anyway.

This looks fun. I don't know any Polish but I've seen it around, and I used to be kinda fluent in win32 years ago. I'll have a go. [Edited updated best guess in brackets.]
::: spoiler spoiler

  • LPCWSTR win32 string type [longpointer(32bit) to c style (null terminated) wide(UTF-16 characters) string]
  • PSZCZYNA Polish
  • WCSLEN win32 type for storing the length of a WCS (whatever that is)
  • WCZESNY Polish
  • LPCTSTR win32 string type [longpointer to c style T? string]
  • BYDGOSZCZ Polish
  • WSTRZAS Polish. Tricky because it contains STR, but feels much more Polish than win32.
  • HGDIOBJ Polish? [win32 handle to a GDI object]
  • DOWOD Polish
  • HWINSTA win32. handle for a (static?) window maybe.
  • DLUGOSC Polish
  • LPCSTR win32 string type [longpointer to c style string]
  • DWORD win32 (and any other c based 32bit OS) 4 byte integer type (or 8 bytes in 64 bit OSs) [remembered wrong here. in some systems DWORD changes size with architecture, but in Windows it was 32 bits in win16, and so it is forever]
  • KAL Polish??
  • LPWSTR win32 string type [longpointer to wide string]
  • SZCZECIN Polish
  • BLAD Polish
  • PUHALF Win32 pointer to unsigned 1 byte integer (or 2 byte in 64bit)
  • CHUJ Polish
  • UHALF win32 unsigned 1 byte integer
