The problem is that people is unable to find where to put their despair (in this case, support for Palestine) to real and concrete action. So, instead of joining Red Cross or something, they come here to fight the moderation team (i.e. calling us Nazis or assuming we support EU nations giving weapons to a state that's been accused of genocide). This is because we happened to draw a line as to "how" you should criticize Zionism.
Under German law (ianal), comparing Israel's actions to the Holocaust may be considered a criminal offence, i.e. Israel-related antisemitism (German explanation). We are trying to follow German law here - the servers are in Austria, the mods are not necessarily though.
It also makes sense to avoid these comparisons for basic common decency and piety reasons.
As such, I'd urge you to steer clear of these comparisons. Thank you. /f

shrugs Either not answering or answering in English seems like an option. I do understand that the latter feels weird though. But helping/allowing threads of German-only comments to form, unrestricted, is going to make this place markedly worse for anyone who does not speak German.

And outside the government, the idea also does not seem to enjoy wide support (cf. the months-long protests against the new government.) The accused is the member of a foreign terrorist association (§ 129a para. 1 No. 1, § 129b para. 1 S. 1 and 2 StGB), the preparation of a serious act of violence at risk (§ 89a para. 1, para. 2 No. 1 and 2 StGB a. F.) and violations of the Weapons Act (§ 52 para. 1 No. 2 WaffG) urgently suspect.
In the arrest warrant, he is essentially charged with the following facts:
Yousif C. is a member of the terrorist organization HAMAS. In July 2025, he handed over to the separately prosecuted Abed Al G. (cf. Press Release No. 65 of 1. I don't know what you regard as the elephant in the room.
You can apply the word "genocide" to the Gaza war here (although so far, legally, we are at "suspected genocide"). You can also call Netanyahu "corrupt" or a "war criminal". You can call Smotrich a "fascist".
But if to you, calling out the elephant in the room hinges on saying stuff like "x politician is literally Hitler", "y city is literally Auschwitz" or "z war action is literally Holocaust", then it may indeed be best to refrain from posting on this server. Besides legalities, I find all of these examples not helpful in understanding reality, because usually all the details are different. They're also in bad taste, given the large number of Jewish victims of historical Nazi reign. And I'd question your motivation for saying these things.
Final thing: You may also not question the statehood of Israel. I.e., no discussing "one-state solutions". But this is not a Mid-East community anyway.
