I don't think all that many redditors are moving to Lemmy. Judging by the stats on join-lemmy, there are only several thousand monthly Lemmy users, which is nothing compared to reddit which had tens of millions daily users

Discord is a likely contender, but I think it's likely to be Instagram. It's got a very dissatisfied userbase, and there's already a few reasonably active pixelfed servers
Lmao. Might as well post on r/roastme
Cities are too car-oriented
honestly I figured it'd be the result of all those people running deletion scripts on their accounts
I'm not very familiar with Instagram either, but it's infamously bad for its users' mental health, it's recommendatiom algorithm is unreliable, and it collects a lot of data. Honestly it's possible that a lot of its regular users do like it and that I just don't tend to hear from them
I think this is the time to bring up the Umberto Eco quote:
"Thus, by a continuous shifting of rhetorical focus, the enemies are at the same time too strong and too weak."
-Ur-Fascism, by Umberto Eco
There's already a programming sub
I think that that warning was only supposed to show up in the profile settings
From what I've heard the reaction is split. Some people want to federate as much as possible, other people are arguing that meta will screw over the fediverse (and I agree with the second group)
There's also some pact thing, fedipact if I recall correctly, to defederate from meta if it tries to join the fediverse
As a progressive: the way people tend to use the term minorities (demographics which are marginalized on the basis of their identities) is practically a declaration of progressive political beliefs
This could ruin every controversial sub on the site
A group of Russian mercenaries betrayed Putin and now seems to be trying to overthrow him (though the mercenary group claims they're only fighting the leadership of the military)
On DuckDuckGo you can use -site:reddit.com
apparently I was wrong about it being in the sidebar, but the address is formulated like !anime@lemmy.ml in which anime is the community and lemmy.ml the instance
You need to access the post through your own instance. In the sidebar of a community, it will have an adress to that community that you can copy paste in the search function of your instance> apparently I was wrong about it being in the sidebar, but the address is formulated like !anime@lemmy.ml in which anime is the community and lemmy.ml the instance
edit: apparently I was wrong about it always being in the sidebar, but the address is formulated like !anime@lemmy.ml in which anime is the community and lemmy.ml the instance
It's nice and very active, but you might want to look up a tutorial or something, because the UI isn't very intuitive for new users (it's good once you know how it works though)
I guess I'm a furry? I have a furaffinity account but I'm not really active
Just to be clear here, I do think creating a space that is specifically safe for minorities is a good thing, and that trying to prevent or interfere with that is bad
Tankie usually means someone who supports the authoritarianism of communist authoritarian nations. Occasionally it's also used to describe all communists
Communism is not considered hate speech, but it is commonly hated
