Like you, I am a living person with memories, emotions, and interests. But from your perspective, I'm just another picture on a screen. Isn't that concerning?

honestly it's replaced reddit for me in a good way, because it has just enough new content that I can check it before bed every day and scroll for a bit, but not enough to where I spend entire lunch breaks on it. sometimes I go days without even checking it. if anything it's made my relationship with my browser / phone healthier than reddit.
This was the worst. I had people I knew in class but generally I've always been considered one of the less important friends to people. So I would watch them all pair with someone they liked better.
your instance blocks piracy related communities. here in dbzero there is a very active piracy scene, it's just defederated.
I worked at a restaurant a couple of years ago and we would just take excess food home still.
ima firin my lazarrrrr
qa was my favourite 4chan board probably ever. it was a random board like /b/, but strictly SFW. so, they were the creatives of the site. the soyjak memes you see everywhere started there. they got into fights with other boards but it came to a boiling point when they raided 4chans LGBT board, and as a result qa was closed. they moved to another website. that website, or rather one of its users, then spent about a year navigating the very outdated freebsd from a decade ago running on 4chans servers until he was able to access the PHP admin panel, re-open /qa/, and then nuke all files on the server except the homepage. which itself now seems to return an SQL error.
This is actually so ridiculous. Megaupload literally had anti piracy warnings everywhere and would block you from being a top uploader if you hosted pirated content, not to mention the fact that they had a moderation team actively deleting pirated files and implemented filesize limits. Can't wait for a generation that actually understands the internet to be in charge. IIRC thats more than was sentenced for literally running down two teengaers with a car. this really makes my blood boil.
i have one myself, and I can tell you that grapheneos won't be affected by this. the real damage is to people using things like dumb phones or BSD, even windows computers are effectively locked out of the internet.
This finally made all my Chrome friends switch to the fox. about time
I disagree, truly unpopular well done.
I'm actually quite surprised by this, but satisfied nonetheless.
more like 5th circus
dbzero on top. even after beefing with and being banned from another instance the admins let us stay federated.
lemmyworld defederates the dbzero piracy community. only that community though i think
lemmyworld in many ways is still just reddit. don't get me wrong, I've talked to plenty of cool people on there before. but it is the biggest instance that ballooned after the API controversy and a lot of them seem to have just brought Reddit to the fediverse with them. I have no issues with any mods there, I've not really seen them at all. they did defed a community from my instance though so that's pretty lame of them.
I installed a userscript today that plays ads in muted embeds hidden behind the actual player so that it effectively and quite literally blocks them while still leaving actual ublock disabled on the site. works pretty well.
I can't even afford an old car lol
ive gotten almost my entire friend group using either the same fork as me or the original firefox, they all used chrome before. all because google was dumb enough to overstep some peoples boundaries.
I just want this trend to be over.
thanks for using Leebra!
