People vandalizing the pool by looking at the pealing bottom some idiots drove cars on before it was dry and poured random chemicals on and had workers walk around scrubbing? Gonna have to suspend the '26 elections just to be safe.

And the other 1/3's best solution is to elect the blue team who did little to nothing to avoid this very obvious outcome. Even helped here and there. Though the rigged popularity contest doesn't offer alternatives.
And the people protesting are doing it American style, where it looks more like a weekend festival at the park. This is, of course, how they were taught to do it. The people in charge can tune that out entirely.
Face it, we need changes bigger than most people understand and harder than practically anyone wants to do to alter course now. Maybe, big maybe, when Trump dies the MAGA spell will be broken on the most moronic 1/3 and they'll fragment back to religious infighting, cousin banging, wrastlin', and whatever else was keeping them disjoined before. Otherwise, outlook grim.
Oh no, he was slammed??! Was he also owned, sent a message, taken to task, and other things that mean someone said something that he ignored and went right back to what he was doing?
tldr; I'm so tired of these Wrestlemania headlines of completely consequence free replies to people being terrible. Wake us when any bad person experiences anything approaching accountability.
It's a lot easier, more reliable to promote your son to VP than Senior [blank] Engineer. Also, for some weird reason we could never have predicted if we wanted to create a more efficient and equitable system, the people who decide salary decided they should have the biggest salary by a lot.
Avoid arguments as 9/10 they mean nothing.
If you find yourself in an argument, or what you think is an argument, caring about winning/losing is the wrong mindset. This isn't Debate Camp and there isn't a trophy waiting for you. Listening, testing your knowledge and convictions, and maintaining your integrity are all much, much more important than "winning".
If you "lose" an argument, especially if you "lost" to style, tactics, rhetorical devices, etc... then see Rule 1 above.
It's so neat to have a problem that combines poor numeracy with not being able to see two steps ahead. Yeah, if could somehow grow the Venn diagram of people with those two skills that would be great.
That seems like a fair percentage estimate. What you're leaving out is society. The ancient Greeks, even the 99.9% dummies, were excited about philosophy and learning. Today, Joe Rogan is one of the most popular podcasts in the world and you can't throw a stick without hitting a dozen grifters proudly parroting logical fallacies while people clap. So yeah, there might be eight million people out there, but their thoughtful blog probably gets a dozen hits a month. Their world changing lecture was cancelled for being woke. Their exciting revelation they add to the conversation get overshadowed by someone yelling how great "Oh! My Balls!" was last night.
Article leaves out tires and tire wear pollution which is significant and bad stuff. It's also worse in heavier vehicles. Yes, EVs, especially if CATL can get their sodium battery line off the ground, are better overall, but let's not oversimplify. Also, the most environmental car is still a car...
1% of the global population with PhDs is a choice.
If we just counted phds that becomes 800 million people
Ouch. And to follow that up with "intelligence is often underestimated by cynics imo". Simply brutal. I hate to be the one to break this too you, but having a PhD doesn't necessarily mean a person is smart. Even if it did, that 1% is sort of entirely making my above point about society.

Thusly, I call the boring game "soccer" and the often decided by refs game where everyone has brain damage "gridiron". Nobody wins, which is beautiful in its own way.
