It’s really sad how far ahead of its time the PSP was. It came out over 10 years before the switch but did not achieve the same success. I have some great memories with my PSP but many people seem quick to disregard it
You can block communities which will stop them showing up on the all/local pages. Go to the community page, tap the three dots at the top and press block :)
I’ve always wanted to but it seems dauntingly expensive and tricky to do. Any tips?
Honestly as a Snapchat user the constant in app ads for Snapchat plus and the weird feature creep where they add seemingly random features is really pushing me to leave.
The only things keeping me are the fact that it is decide agnostic so I can communicate with my android friends and iOS friends in one group chat, and the core photo sharing functionality. I know most messaging apps allow you to share photos but it’s not quite the same.
If you’re looking for an Apollo-like lemmy app I’d recommend memmy for iOS. There’s also wefwef which looks like Apollo but is a self hosted web app so will work on android too.
I just picked this up in the sale and this is a genuinely fun game. I’m not even a Warhammer fan but this is very reminiscent of Doom with both the graphics and enemy types. It’s a pretty short game, I’m about 5 hours in and just over halfway through.
That's really helpful thanks. My main reason for considering switching is for availability when outside of my home. I know I could port-foward but I am concerned about the security risks of that. I might buy one for just a month or two to see how it might help
I get this too, I can only view the first image in the gallery. There’s no way to swipe between images or expand the previews
To be honest I don’t see the issue with multiple similar communities. It’s no different to how Reddit would have many subreddits with similar themes. For example on Reddit there were dozens of Star Wars subs so people would subscribe to them all
Ah that makes sense, I hadn’t considered that https would mess this up. I actually already use libredirect on Firefox on my desktop, I was just hoping to set up a network wide redirect. Thanks for the help!
I think you’re underselling the RPi a little there. I have an 3B+ which is running a few services well and it’s being undervolted so I could squeeze some more performance out of it with a better power supply. My Pi is currently running:
-Pi-Hole -FreshRSS -WireGuard -Gluetun -Libreddit -Deluge
I love a good bomber shooter. Personally I think hellbound is great especially if you get a good discount on it
I can’t believe the size of that campus. Let alone the size of the car parks. The whole campus of the university I attended was 135 acres and yet yours has over half that amount of land dedicated to car parks.
I’m really enjoying the app and I greatly appreciate your clear explanation and transparency regarding the push notifications.
I would recommend they try memmy if on iOS. I’ve tried liftoff and Mlem too but memmy is my favourite so far.
I use Kubuntu for the kde plasma desktop. It made the switch from windows much easier. I dual boot and occasionally use windows if I want to play a game which doesn’t have Linux support
If you're on iOS you could check out memmy, it is heavily inspired by Apollo and has just been published on the App Store
I don’t mind it too much but I have also noticed that it is very strong. Maybe this could be a slider or a toggle in the settings?
I hadn't really considered hardware problems although I suppose that's a rather negligible cost. I probably only have to replace my own hard drives every 3 years or so. I appreciate the insight!
thanks for using Leebra!
