Maybe if you didn't split settings into that half-baked settings app, then leave control panel in place with the remaining settings, but make control panel increasingly difficult to get to, we wouldn't need a stupid AI agent to help us change settings.

I wanted to see what all this talk about vim was and now I’ve been stuck for 3 years.

Yea, sure. They're unwilling "active users" because they accidentally click on some copilot garbage that's been shoved into every inch of Windows. While I see plenty of folks using various AI tools, none of those tools are copilot.

This has got to be hanging around somewhere in that building for easy reference....

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Of course, the junk drawer.

I don't think I've ever been in a home without one.

Hopefully this means Ubuntu will have good support for the X1 Elite...that'd be pretty sweet. Then all that sweet code can trickle down to the other distros.

This strangely made me feel a better about the concept of death.

Sometimes I think about it and fall in a few seconds of existential dread. But this kinda...makes it make sense?

Probably Iceland. No one bothers them and they don't bother anyone. Doesn't get hot, fjords and geysers to look at, puffins, bubble hotels, cool metal scene.

I think it is useful with a constrained dataset. Like using it to summarize things about a dataset, or dumping documents into it and asked getting info about it (like Gemini in Google Drive).

It is not useful for general question using the whole-ass internet as a dataset.

Also I wish it was called something other than AI...it's just a word guesser FFS.

Same. If I could skip the initial dating thing and just have an instant SO that I hang out with and enjoy, I'd be pretty happy. But I'm not good at meeting new people. Plus, after enough failed dates, it gets difficult to justify dumping more time into it. It's so mentally taxing to find someone, get to know them, meet them (and deal with the amount of anxiety that goes into that whole ordeal), it probably doesn't work out, repeat and try again. So I just hang out with my cat instead.

I found a little cart by a farm in the middle of nowhere with a load of pumpkins on it for $1. Best thing I've spent $1 on all year.

I always use virtual cards for any subscriptions these days. If it takes more than a couple clicks to cancel a service, I just delete the virtual card instead.

Any Pixel really. I’d probably lean toward like a Pixel 8a if you’ve got the budget for it since you’ll get 7 years of updates so you can target the latest Android platform. Plus, Google commonly has sales on the Google Store (definitely avoid paying full price for one). But all the Pixels have good 3rd party ROM support so even the older ones can run the newest versions of Android using Lineage or something similar.

TBH, if you’re just learning, I’d say just use the Android Studio emulator.
