It's also a remaster of a game that aged very well in my opinion and didn't really need a facelift.

Juniors need to start somewhere!
Hey, I like the thing you linked as much as the next guy, but posting a bare link isn't going to start any conversations around the topic.
And I hate to see a link post with no comments in my feed personally.
How about you share some of what you think or ask your question so it is something worth interacting with?
Cheers
Since they are old, i would imagine the power efficiency isn't the best on them for a 24/7 HA cluster at home. Unless you have an abundance of solar power or something. So I would use them as a test branch for whatever I want to do for self-hosting and learning
I would use them as learning platform for myself. Play with Active Directory DCs, replicataion, failover, recovery, networking etc. Just because more practice in that is what would be needed for advancement at work.
Others mentioned Kubernetes and Proxmox clustering. I could also use some sacrificial storage and compute to play around with those technologies so I could improve my self-hosted services.
A sense of "this should be the bear fucking minimum after all the shit you pulled and all the stuff I had to do on top" huh. Seems to be a common one these days. Rightfully so.
I could live with this. I like the gnome "workflow" but I hate how restrictive it is. Not to mention that it runs worse on my laptop compared to KDE. Thanks for the inspiration! I might just try something like this.
A nipple and buttons on the top of the touchpad is all I need from them
The keyword here would be empathy if you ask me.
You are right but massive WFH adoption where possible would mean less commuters, less idling in trafic. Maybe even leaves space for some downsizeing of the car based infra we have, to be replaced with bike friendly or more walkable spaces/roads.
The manufacturing jobs are a tough one. It would be nice to see a shift, but not only by bringing the jobs back, but also by lifting up the exploited workers in Asia for example. It might just level the market to be competitive? I have no idea hoe it would look like, just a thouhht.
"I am drinking my own piss and don't undersrand why others woudn't"
Very interesting! It's tempting, but I can already see the "Major Change ticket" coming in for "Divorce" if I asked for tickets at home :D
I'm sorry, how many recipes do you need for air frying food? It controls temps and time. What other variable is there to warrant app connectivity?
redmi note 9 pro user here. Now on LOS. The default OS is full of telemetry. Even the calculator wants you to agree to personal data being used. Would avoid unless you only want the hardware and the model you want has active community rom support.
Also the Bootloader unlocking process is a PITA. You need a xiaomi account logged in to the phone for it for 2 weeks, then they may allow unlocking the BL but only through their unlocker app that frankly sucks. You may have to sit through the wait period twice if something goes wrong. Ask me how I know.
Phone or walk up to helpdesk, they open one for you.
If old means 20 year old to you, I would recommend buying used from around 2015 ish. That seems to be the time things started going "smart". Some not too recent cars can be software modded by good techs/tuner shops to disable stop-start and similar. Probably other annoyances too, but I would assume it's very dependent on make, model etc.
The noise is only an issue because of how small my appartment is. I can't really isolate noise in here. I would think it also depends on which drives I get. I read that some are louder than others.
They skirted around it on the official doc. They didn't explicitly say not all 6a devices are affected. They instead say if yours is affected, based on where you got it from and what are the laws in your area, you might be eligible for compensation or free repair.
It is entierly possible that hardware lottery is in play and some batts are feom a different supplyer. From what I gathered.
I also use open source options whenever they fulfills my needs. I am not changing to linux yet because of gaming.
I grew up relatively poor, so burning cd-s for each other and trading games was the jam when I was in school. Games I usually still pirate and even when I buy them I have already tried them to an extent, or finished them 5 times. Steam sales are a godsend for multiplayer only titles tho. I have nothing against supporting devs. But ubi, ea and those responsible for games with 0 content and giant day1 patches, season passes and all that crap can get fucked.
I rather spend that money on zero knowledge mail and vpn, maybe a donation to foss devs for things that I can't live without anymore. I need to get into the habit of donating some at least. Now that I am out of the financial danger zone.
Thanks for the feedback! I am doing the opposite right now funnily enough. Trying to move away from having everything on Truenas as an app because of the host-app communication limitations. I have a bridge network set up but it still has its issues.
I'll need to get some hardware to make this happen. At least to have a PCIe SATA controller I can pass through to a TrueNas VM so I can have everything on one physical host.
Nextcloud is on the list to try. For now syncthing was fixed up for filesync from my shoddy implementation of it yeras ago.
Sadly the voting with wallet approach is only a short term solution imo.
One big player makes the contraversial move, gets some flack then most people forgets. Other players later make the same moves saying this is industry standard now, since the big players are doing it.
Playing the system by workarounds, root hiding, sandboxing tools etc. Will probably work temporarily also until they figure out what people are doing to circumvent the locks.
thanks for using Leebra!
