Very cool idea. I love how this collective functions. We don't merely strive to do better out of selfish gain--only dbzer0 recognizes that this is not nearly enough--we must improve the very boundaries and underlying structures themselves if authentic progress for ourselves and others is the aim.

I'm a quiet lurker, but I continue to feel dbzer0's governance and general spirit is how communities were always supposed to be(if that makes sense) Here's to the flotilla!🍻

Muh portage tho😲

But am I a hero or douche for consistently clicking 'reject non-essentials' without thinking? 🤔

May I ask why the strict yt avoidance? Have no intentions of persuading you either way, just curious.

My 20 years of mgmt exp would like to greatly thank you for the text OP Leaving with a reason puts you above 60% of all the other ppl that just stopped coming in altogether lol

Why is there such a shortage of gentoomen on lemmy? Where the gentoo homies hanging? Prolly irc still, huh? 😮‍💨

Is the restoration method mentioned here really only achievable via nixos? How can you be so confident that you are truly reobtaining an "exact same system"?

Nixos consistently intrigues me because of what it seems to be accomplishing but I can never dive in because there seems to also be many warnings about the investment required and the potential for other more complicated and really nuanced drawbacks to arise.

Give it to me straight--is it offering a new approach of stability with the emphasis on reproducibility? If I'm a gentoo enjoyer hardset in my ways, what could I stand to gain in the nixos/guix realm?
