I feel like that’s the point of using that picture though.

This is one of the single biggest changes we can make to our current electoral system.

Should’ve done this in 2021. This could’ve changed the 2024 election entirely.

Maybe cause the "crisis" was over inflated to begin with? Also cause people generally don't like this idea in practice.

Forums are where I learned literally everything about technology I know now. Every hack, jailbreak, method of bypassing something, building, literally anything I’ve done around my tech hobbies. Pi hole, emulation in the late 90s, how to use Photoshop, how to run Linux from a USB, everything I’ve learned from forums. I’m sad to think that me joining certain discords help deliver the death knell to the concept of forums.

Falling on deaf ears at this point. The controlled opposition party Democratic Party has already handed the keys to the kingdom to ensure a smooth transition of ^unchecked^ power.

What’s ironic is that more foreign owned brands have production plants in the US than US brands at this point. Nissan Toyota and Honda all have US plants. GM Ford and Chrysler all have plants primarily in Canada and Mexico.

They should’ve never messed with the original avatars. Xbox finally had their own aesthetic in a way that Nintendo always seems to have. Then they went and changed everything.

This used to be true, but unfortunately, like USB-C the game has changed completely.

The downside to standardization is that if you keep the same physical form for multiple iterations, the internals can change. The specs of the source and receiving ends have gone through tons of changes since 2015 and old HDMI 1.4 Cables don't have the same standards to transmit high speed signals from things like PS5, Xbox, Apple TV etc.

Additionally because they require programming and HDCP (a verification handshake between the 2 devices it connects) when companies cheap out they may not properly program them.

That being said, you don't need spend an arm and a leg, but don't get shit either. Generally speaking, buy the cheapest version HDMI 2.1 from a reputable brand or vendor. Definitely not from Amazon anymore, a TON of products labeled 2.1 are actually 2.0 or worse, 1.4.

Nothing. That’s the problem. Democrats are so afraid to play an opposition party cause it will negatively affect party leadership and top donors. They want the status quo and are more than likely benefiting from the Trump regime in many ways.

Make no bones about it: top Democrats have been complacent with a hostile takeover of the US government because it is benefiting them.

Progressive Democrats and party newcomers are seeing this reality. They tried to play the game for a bit but got burned like Bernie did. Some democrats are finally growing a backbone to stand up against geriatric party leadership.

Seeing all the cats made me realize that we need to all participate to make the community what we want it to be. It’s clear to me there are a lot of lurkers based on the influx of cat pictures. The more we start posting in ANY instance the more visibility there will be for active users.

I never understand the constant pressure to the middle class and “poor.” Like how do you expect ANYTHING to get done if people have nothing?

I always go back to thinking about corporations and anyone who produces a “product” and think what consumer will spend the money they don’t have so some company and their board can have more money? If consumers have no money to spend, how will the rich continue to extract it from them? You can’t draw blood from a stone. They don’t even have to care about people, but if there’s literally nothing to take from them, then where is all the “wealth” coming from?

Great article. It's pretty obvious to me now that the Fediverse should have room to grow on it's own naturally. It's probably in the best interest to block any massive corporate entity from joining in and swallowing it whole.

It's interesting seeing how fast it's already growing due to mega corporate incompetence, and I think the sheer desire to escape that landscape is driving growth now and we should nurture that as long as possible.

That pricing is really putting Nintendo out of its core market. The reason the Switch was an absolute smash is because it was and remained accessibly priced. The fact they’re charging $450 is really putting them out of the “hey that’s not too bad” audience. This is a wildly bad move on their part.

Watergate was a really big deal. By all accounts, it still technically is. It’s pretty blatant corruption and was cartoonishly executed. That said, what’s happening now is under the guise of “making America greater.”

The players are equally cartoonish goons (Anthony Scaramucci? Guilliani? Steve Bannon? His entire administration was toon town) but Trump is slimier than Nixon and is great at getting people to do his bidding for access. The deluge of news and control of the narrative they have has greatly played into their hand. They figured out how to rig the modern media machine. Nixon could never have done that.
