Please, I know lemmy is a bit left leaning, and georgism are mostly libertarians/liberal, but the ideology is so centrist and common sense I'm sure even far left communist advocates can get behind it.

Algerian here, the most common word used to talk about "gas" here is actually the french word essence, since darja(what people actually speak) is just a weird amalgamate of french, Arabic and Berber that really don't get along well.

It isnt that hard, moved from wondows 10 to mint, and a few months later to arch, and it took me less than 2 hours to install arch, and thats with slow internet.

And i learned a lot whole doing it, like Dekstop environments, disk partitoning(root, swap, and boot), filesystems, and a lot more.

I wouldnt recommend it to everyone, but it is great if you want to learn more about computers.

Financial responsibility is something more people need to learn regardless of what the environment is, Especially when times are soon to be rough, and more and more predatory practices are becoming common.

TLDR: I'm glad I'm seeing more people take debt seriously, at least in my corners of the internet.

Georgism is an ideology broadly based on taxing the full value of land, in order to prevent rentseeking.

So rather than taxing people for the property they built/bought, you tax the land which no one made.

The value of the land is based on the progress society made in that area, so when you tax the full unimproved value of the land, you prevent landlords from essentially leeching on the results of society progress that they did not directly contirubute to.

You can still buy land, but when you do you must pay full rent to the government, so technically, if the government did own all the land and lease it out for rent, it would be goergist in practice(but not in spirit, since goergism wants to protect property rights)

Mint is the best to start tbh.

And you could stay in mint for years and barely have to use bash, and when you do there is a well stocked forum, so it is sometimes even easier than windows to troubleshoot.

Darja is technically a dialect, even if (at least from my experience) it is barely intelligible to most people from saudi Arabia and such, I often end up speaking English in such cases.

Darja is sorta like Scots in that way tbh, basically a sister language / dialect of Arabic in a similar way to what Scots is for English.
