doesn't read that he's changed his mind about Trump, be just doesn't agree with this particular thing.
@lemmy.world
Right, it's not like there aren't billions and billions of religious nutters out there. I mean I don't see aethiests killing people for believing in a fairy god monster and yet if you said you're an atheist in Saudia Araiba etc you'd be killed. The fuck sort of tolerating intolerace is that?
Aethiets are pushing up not down, mocking people for believing in fairy tales seems a very sensible reaction ? especially when they inevitably double down on their nonsense.
It really rustles my jimmies
Why ? Who gives a shit, they are people.
Should people born there have their "jimmies rustled" because immgrants we're allowed in at all ?
The fuck is worng with you ?
Humans organised by hierarchy.
It never works and always ends with civilisations that ever attempt it collapsing. No matter how often we do the same dumb shit over and over it never works.. Are we insane anons ?
The irony if the endless artickes in the AfR decrying how unfair it all is.
Running alongside articles about how terrible it is there hasn't been tax reform for 24 years
It's the same whenever the possibility of death taxes are raised, I am always bemused how the average person is outraged by this, as though a high tax on say >$10Million inheritance is some sort of outrage but inherited dynastic wealth that leads to vast inequality and political manipulation isn't. Let alone it was often made off the back of generous tax subsidies in the first place, like large super balances.
Once upon a time :) there was a weekly thread way back in the day on Reddit about people showing their sketches done on the Galaxy Note 9 (android phone with a stylus).
Everyones like holy shit, thats good as people posted theirs. I jokingly posyed a poorly drawn stick figure. Someone commented that was about their ability back about a year ago, they then proceeded to ensure that every day they did a sketch getting better (Used Autodesk Sketchbook) and the stuff they then posted was incredible.
Moral of the story? I can't play my banjo, harmonica, guitar or sketch worth shit becase I don't have that discipline. 90% perspiration. Of course thw truly great sruff needs that extra 10% AS WELL. If you're a muso you definetly can!
I relate this story as that post of theirs made me really think. Years later I have a Samsung S22u and still can't sketch for shit :)
As to the OP, awesome work :)
We should have years ago, I think its impossible now. We use their IT everywhere for example, who hosts taz office records ? We have their military bases everywhere , look what happned to the ICC. How we let ourselves give up our digital soveriginety is an all time disaster thats unfurled.
The turning point for me was when George Bush was in then Australian Parliament and Senator Bob Brown was banned. An elected Australia senator was banned from Parlment. I started voting Green then.
We should really align ourselves with the EU and move away from the US.conplelty, the US jumped the shark with Trump the first time and we still didn't pay attention, going the ANKUS root is a fucking national embarrassment
Regardless you're not going to get any change from the ALP nor LNP, they're too embedded in the orthodoxy.
Just my two cents, but there's just no reason for people to come here when it's 80+% political shit a
As a contra point, I'm glad that its like this, a lack of politcal debate is toxic to democracy and that way be dragons.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses
In a political context, the phrase means to generate public approval, not by excellence in public service or public policy, but by diversion, distraction, or by satisfying the most immediate or base requirements of a populace, by offering a palliative: for example food (bread) or entertainment (circuses). Juvenal originally used it to decry the "selfishness" of common people and their neglect of wider concerns. The phrase implies a population's erosion or ignorance of civic duty as a priority.
That doesn't mean there shouldn't be more other stuff as well though.
Foolosh ? stupid
These are Cipolla's five fundamental laws of stupidity:
Always and inevitably, everyone underestimates the number of stupid individuals in circulation.
The probability that a certain person (will) be stupid is independent of any other characteristic of that person.
A stupid person is a person who causes losses to another person or to a group of persons while himself deriving no gain and even possibly incurring losses.
Non-stupid people always underestimate the damaging power of stupid individuals. In particular, non-stupid people constantly forget that at all times and places, and under any circumstances, to deal and/or associate with stupid people always turns out to be a costly mistake.
A stupid person is the most dangerous type of person.
