Still though, dude had all kinds of valid targets, and went with ..those people..? Just odd.

Congrats on the 24,000 updoots or whatever I guess.
I think it's the crossroad that the Unabomber reached.
I would wager that they have received data suggesting that there is not much to be done.
Make the World Devonian Again
You are claiming that humans are all susceptible to advertising. If that is not the case then there are those that are not affected, and those that are. I am claiming that the majority may be susceptible to it, but not everyone. You are adamant that I am wrong.
It's not overconfidence to know that I don't listen to ads. Even if they are playing near me, I drown it out with my own hatred for them. If I don't hear or see them, how do they affect me, precisely?
These posts are always about GENERALITIES in human behavior. Not the extreme ends or random differences. And yet there are always hordes of people claiming that EVERY SINGLE HUMAN ALIVE reacts the same to advertising.
What overconfidence you have in your own knowledge of the human mind that you can tell me about my own.
I am unhappy that the product exists in any way, regardless of my having it or not. The only thing that would make me desire the object more, is if it kills billionaires. Always tempting, those ones.
Is that how people work...? Seriously? Are peoples brains that mushy?
These companies are robbing the planets environment of so much energy and resources in order to rob us of our time so that they can rob us of our money. When you think of the scale of waste, it is literally incomprehensible to human brains. Almost certainly, MILLIONS OF YEARS OF COLLECTIVE HUMAN LIFE have been needlessly and carelessly wasted by other people intentionally. I genuinely cannot think of a more purely evil institution in the history of humanity.
It is usually related to the number of offspring in a single birth. So between 1 and 150 according to the laziest Google search I ever did.
Correct. I am that person.
If you're trying to convince me that advertising is not one of the single greatest wastes of energy and resources our society has ever known and also one of its greatest poisons, you'll have a bad time dude.
You know, it makes sense that allowing a group of people to psychological torment and abuse the entire worlds population would lead to some unhealthy outcomes, yes. Advertisers are manipulating and corrupting every single person's mind, attempting to instill all sorts of emotions and desires. Surely NOTHING could go wrong right? Surely no one would be driven to LITERAL PSYCHOSIS ABOUT IT.
SURELY NOT.
But the buying of detergent is in no way related to anything that I have seen about detergents. It's based on water content and my own experience with them. I may not be fully immune to advertising, but Jesus you guys act like because you put no thought into things, no one else does.
"It is familiar to me" is not a metric that is involved in purchasing. "Is it effective" is.
But you have to understand, if we regulated these people, THEY WOULD LEAVE! then what would we do?
OH THE HUMANITY! WHAT WOULD WE DO WITHOUT THE BILLIONAIRES!!?!
All good dude. You're probably right about emotional responses, but I feel like if going shopping also fills me with rage because I am forced to see these brands over and over, then I'm pretty unlikely to buy any of it. Shockingly, I buy produce and beer and not much else. Everything else is generic if possible.
I stand by me being swayed in the opposite direction by ads.
Look I'm not trying to say it doesn't work. I'm trying to say that my rage at them DOES leave ME largely immune to their shit because every time I see or hear anything from them, it only makes me angrier.
I understand that it works on the masses because people are not angry enough. I want people to get so angry at these demons that they are recognized on the streets and have their jugulars torn out by a horde of random passersby.
I hate every product. EVERY. PRODUCT. IN. EXISTANCE.
if I see an ad for something, instantly, the only thing in my head is a rage filled mantra "I hope you die. Kill yourselves." Directed at the people who directed, acted in, wrote, produced, edited, designed, or participated in ANY way with the product or ad.
I am viscerally repulsed by every single ad and I absolutely do remember the products that I get ads for. If I ever learn that someone works in advertising, we will not be interacting in the future. Period. They should consider themselves lucky if I don't throat punch them that instant.
If I recognize a brand name product, there is a good chance that I will actively choose the other option for specifically that reason. Unless I was already using the item, my rage and pettiness know no bounds.
thanks for using Leebra!
