Now that you know, could you please add "(AI generated)" to the title? or remove the post?
@beehaw.org
The more AI is being pushed into my face, the more it pisses me off.
Mozilla could have made an extension and promote it on their extension store. Rather than adding cruft to their browser and turning it on by default.
The list of things to turn off to get a pleasant experience in Firefox is getting longer by the day. Not as bad as chrome, but still.
F-Droid store/repo is safer than Google Play Store. Google's own store has many shady apps, including spyware and occasionnal malware.
I don't get the argument that Play Store is safer than others.
Police and government agencies can track phones even when they're connected to a genuine cell towers, via mobile operators. It's just slightly more convenient for them to use an ISMI catcher because they collect data without going through a third party.
Assume a mobile phone can be tracked if it's powered, regardless of iOS or Android version and settings.
The post's title match neither the headline nor the article.
If you'd like to share your analysis I'd suggest adding text to the post or a comment as it's a good way to add one's analysis. But please avoid replacing headlines, this is a bit misleading.
Looking forward to read an article announcing the actual release with verified information.
Publishing rumors when the actual annnouncement is hours away seems pointless. It's not something time sensitive.
Nothing wrong with being "woke" especially if that mean being awake to social and racial injustices, similar to what MLK Jr. called for.
It's sad.
Adoption rate does matter. HEIC currently has a 13.99% adoption, and WebP has a 95.92% adoption rate in web browsers.
So when considering support in softwate, it's more reasonable to pick WebP as default, rather than HEIC.
There are of course other considerations, like compression efficiency, format features, patents, ...
growth has been minimal, with activity in the service sector stagnating and manufacturing output rising only moderately
Growth is very slow? That does'nt sound too bad, as it probably mean we're not having a larger negative effect on the environment and climate.
It's more relevant to look at which sectors are growing vs shrinking. Ideally the most polluting sectors would be the ones shrinking.
Russia's sphere of influence is shrinking while they're embroiled in Ukraine.
Wishing the same to any country tempted to invade neighbors.
