Do you have data on Ukraine losses too to put it in perspective?

Glad to see there's already a Melbourne sub going strong on Lemmy!

I think we will see the social web move back to a more decentralized environment, like it used to be, and the fediverse will be the center of it. Right now 90% of social interaction on the web is through giant public social media companies, whose sole drive is profit. Back in the day of forums and bbs the servers were run by enthusiasts who wanted to build a community. I think this "burn it to the ground for profits" movement we've seen from Twitter, reddit, YouTube, etc. will be a great thing for the web overall.

So whilst I support Ukraine 100% I feel this is nothing more than propaganda.

Propaganda from a country we support is still Propaganda. It's not useful in understanding what is really going on under the fog of war.

I'll stay. I've been looking for a reason to move off reddit for a long time. But there didn't seem to be a non political based exodus, until now. The TD stuff and voat seemed too political charged and only people of a certain political leaning left. As a result voat and the others were just all about American politics. This feels much more across the board, and so far I'm loving the Lemmy community.

Out of curiosity is there a particular reason you're avoiding meds for them other than the stigma associated with stimulants? It's a first-line treatment for ADHD not a last resort.

Thanks for the link, and I agree with your sentiment. I don't find myself debugging a lot. Perhaps why i neglected the skill. However just today I was getting a null reference exception on a particular line, yet I wasn't able to clarify what object it was that was null. Seems pretty silly, but it prompted me to try and hone my debugging skills, as I felt the tools where there, I just don't know how to use them.

Could almost have the bartender say "Your nuts".

"Your nuts,” answered the bartender. “Yeah i thought so.” “No your peanuts” said the barkeep. “… they’re complimentary.“

Make them an unraid usb and then they can just stick in a spare pc and they should be good to go. Then they can use the gui to download and install docker images. Would be the path of least resistance IMO.

Well I mean if they want a home server they will have to learn something.

Personally I just set my friends and family up with a stremio/torrentio/real-debrid setup. Nothing to host, I just pre-configure Stremio for them. Then they can just login on any device and it's good to go.

Thanks for such a detailed reply, specific to my use case. Really helpful tips.

and also a device simulator down to the byte/protocol level, then you can inject faults and ensure your app can handle them.

I know I should do this, it's just such a PIA for me since I hate reading/implenting standards so I've avoided it. Thanks for the push, I think I'll make a start on one this weekend.
