I always liked the analogy with monkeys in the zoo. Imagine there are 10 monkeys in a cage. Every day you drop in 20 oranges. After a while you realise that one monkey is sitting on a pile of oranges, hoarding them. He can't even eat all the oranges, while some monkeys go hungry. No one would think: "man that must be one smart monkey." You would think something is seriously wrong with that guy.

I bought a lawnmower from someone online and went to pick it up. The lady was a turbo hoarder in her late 60's she was smoking and smelled like a brewery. Her home was DISGUSTING. And i mean rat shit on the countertop. The only reason i was in her house was because there was so much shit around her house that the only way into her backyard was through the house. If you haven't seen it, you can not understand how bizzare it was to carry a lawnmower through a hoarder house, when she had technically a big yard around.

I just wanted to get the fuck out of here when she said: a lot of people wanted the lawnmower, but she doesn't sell it to anyone (she mant she didn't sell it to immigrants). And: "no offence to you, but your generation is absolutely useless." It was like some weird snl sketch

I once saw this in a smaller scale and it kinda blew me away. I had a friend who worked on construction for a small company with maybe 8 employees and their boss. He woked a lot. He made some good money, but not compared to the work they did. The boss took so much work all the time, that they sometimes worked from 6am untill 10pm. Saturdays as well. At some point he couldn't pay them overtime, but promised to pay them asap. (And he did, but like 10 years later.) One saturday, we had some plans and i told him that i would pick him up at his workplace and we could go directly from there. When i picked him up his boss showed off his brand new mercedes AMG to his crew. And everyone was just talking about how cool his new car was, and he needs a car like that to pull his new huge boat. Literally no one was like: "waaaait a minute."

There is is something funny to being this close to a bird flu pandemic while a fascist is president and people's biggest problem seems to be that eggs are expensive. You can buy some chickens and collect and eat their periods yourself. Or just not eat eggs, but that seems like too wild of an idea apparently

I deleted facebook in like 2010 or so, because i hardly ever used it anyway, it wasn't really bad back then, just not for me. 6 or so years later a friend of mine wanted to show me something on fb, but couldn't find it, so he was just scrolling, i was blown away how bad it was, just ads and auto played videos and absolute garbage. And from what i understand, it just got worse and worse. Everyone i know now that uses facebook is for the market place.
