It is. Everytime you hear someone say 'this is good for the economy' or 'our economic growth has slowed down' or 'the GDP has grown by suchandsuch percent this year' they are assuming trickle down economics work. That is because you might have a mental image of the economy being made up of small buiseness owners in your head while in reality ownership of things that benefit from a growing economy is largely in the hands of a small amount of people. In the US for example the top 10% of people own 70% of all of the countries wealth while the bottom 50% own about 1%.

Wealthy peoples' wealth also is made up of investments in company's to a larger extant than poorer people who have a larger percentage of their wealth made up of cash, houses, cars and other such 'real' things which don't benefit from a good economy. This wealth disparity exists in most countries to varying degrees. Globally speaking it's even more egregious.

Fixed the link. I am not an expert on wealth inequality so I have to trust some who are. I trust this website because it was trusted by the 'good council for redistribution' in Austria. A council that redistributed the inheritance of an austrian millionaires heiress under the advice of experts. Calculating wealth distribution is hard though so I am not surprised you found different graphs. That is why even a 0% wealth tax would be good just so we could get a clear picture of where we stand.

Well yes. Those statistics are painting a picture of black people being much more likely to be murderers than white people because of their skin colour. It makes it seem like the skin colour is the issue. Since skin colour is inherited that would mean tendencies to murder people are also inherited. Which would form a basis on which racist actions are justified. All of this just because the graph oversimplifies. The actual factors that cause people to commit homicide are complex and include amongst others income, gender, upbringing, view of women and mental health issues. Those correlate with skin colour but require very different actions to solve. So pushing back against those oversimplified statistics and removing them is good since the takeaway's from it are wrong.

It's about a guy who is locked in a Covid-19 individual isolation facility for 7 years (that does not make sense since after about 2 weeks of everyone being locked up all the sick people would be non contagious). In a fantasy dystopia where lizard people are real (there is no evidence they are. It's a distracting conspiracy story) and people's freedoms of movement and privacy are completely restricted (privacy has been worse than the movie for a long time. Ironically the guy loves his tablet. Movement restrictions would be too expensive though.) Not to mention that everyone is forced to eat insects and no other meats (you don't need to eat insects. Meat consumption should be reduced bc. at least 14% of global greenhouse gas emissions are caused because of meat production according to a UN study). Also the rainforest is cut down because it emits CO2 at night(in reality this would release a lot of CO2 captured in the plants). Also only movies which are progressive are allowed ( also wasn't true as can be seen by the very films existance). There is a bunch of other stuff as well I don't have the time to get into. It's not funny or ironic or enlightening. It just gets the reason behind a lot of things happening in the real world wrong and then exaggerates those which makes the thing its trying to say even more wrong.

All the AI Models we have rely on physical hardware. So as long as a model can't replicate itself we can always take a sledgehammer to it or cut of power. Them needing increasing amounts of energy and hardware makes me doubt a Model will develop successful self replicating behaviour. It would also need to develop the ability to hide itself from the user of the hardware at the same time which I doubt is possible again because of its energy needs.

Apparently owls can actually see UV light (source). So it seems possible to me that they benefit from being able to see how old other owls feathers are. Maybe to judge their health or something?

OK so is he even allowed to do that? And if he isn't are government agencys required to comply with his order until it is overturned?
