I, ngl, could grind money trading for days in elite. Never was a problem for me, and haulers do generate money fast. I hate engineering though. It's unnecessary tedious. The amount of planning and time wasted just to get AX ready ship is ridiculous. And pvp balance with fdl meta somewhat puts me off. Add to this that separate arena pvp mode in elite is dead. At some point I got Soo bored that I couldn't really continue playing it. No matter what, their ass engineering is too much for me. And linear progression killed any reason to even bother with that. And recent updates don't seem to really fix any of the existing issues. They tried to make engineering less painful by making rates and activities you get materials from more consistent. But it never fixed core issues with engineering. Like broken balance, or pathing that can take days to fully upgrade the ship if you have life outside of the game. Also the fact that you have to use outfit sites and inara for almost anything route related, because UI in the game is not really done in a good way puts me of playing it on steam deck as well. Elite could be a great game, but somehow it feels that devs maintaining the game and not developing it when it comes to ship related gameplay. Oh right, f-ing potato servers that will kick you from the game even if you are in solo mode on the busy weekend is painful too. Not to say that I prefer starfield. Starfield is not even on my radar, I will prefer elite any day over starfield. Just elite state is frustrating as hell for me.

Putting aside that it's idiotic anticonsumer patent. May I just ask here. How tf this even gets patented? Should I patent the act of showing the advertisement sign to my neighbors every time they open their door, so I can get exclusivity rights ownership on doing such an idiotic thing? Like why it gets accepted? It doesn't sound even remotely technologically meaningful, neither it needs to withstand concurrency. It's just a waste of tax money.

Yabridge exist for windows plugins. Surprisingly works pretty good. My arturia pack works w/o any major issues. There is some virtual monitor thingy I do on sway to workaround weird performance bug. But I don't think it should surface on kde for example.

As for Reaper, DAWs and Linux: Make sure to have low latency setup for pipewire. I had to configure some stuff on arch and add pipewire latency variable with lowest values that my interface can handle to launch option for reaper. I prefer playing and practicing on Linux over the windows in terms of latency now. For how messy pipewire can be, when it's setup correctly, it's magnitudes better than windows for low latency audio not just because of latency, but because of current windows audio drivers limitations. I no longer record or edit for quiet some time, so can't say how it compares to other DAWs. Also why I'm personally using reaper: it's intuitive, fast, fair price, good terms (perpetual license with updates, there is eol for updates, but it's focused on specific version release, and for how release cycle goes it can last almost a decade, and you can still use the older versions after update eol, but better read terms yourself), and It has trial period over which I decided that it's best suited for me.

It's kinda not supposed to happen if your setup is correct.

Most likely reason is too short buffer. And on high CPU load it's just getting overrun. There are legitimate ways to mitigate it in pipewire. And even manage some rt prio things. Arch wiki and pipewire docs should have comprehensive info on how to properly setup things. It can be bit complicated because different sources can have different quantum values. So some can stutter and some not, but it should be all configurable. Pipewire is very good in that regard, just sad I don't see any good tools to manage these values w/o creating/editing configs, so people don't jump into this rabbit hole of research.

Please note that defaults on pipewire should not stutter regularly with proper interface, my main audio interface performs way above what pipewire set by default. But I did used different interfaces and some do struggle with default quantum values.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/... https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/PipeWire I had some stuff on arch not working from the box, and interface selecting wrong type, which added latency as well. I managed to debug most of my stuff using those 2 pages and pipewire documentation. You may not need most of it on another distro. But it's a good read either way. I changed way too much and long time ago to remember everything though. If everything setup correctly, setting lowest interface supported values for pipewire latency should do the trick (point 3.1.3 on pipewire arch wiki page), without it pipewire will default to the default config option, hence why you probably felt the delay.

I'm not particularly a fan of GTA series. However did completed every one of them since GTA III. My issue with GTA VI trailer though is that it looks too realistic, and not really well stylized. It doesn't ring the vibe of Vice City. And it doesn't look catchy for my eye. Would love to be proven wrong after release (More good games to complete). I can acknowledge that lighting tech is impressive. Animations are good. And environment is detailed. But atm it looks soulless for me comparing it even to the same GTA V. And story wise tracking 3 doofuses idiotic plans was actually fan. Here I don't feel anything remotely special atm. Might be a damn good sandbox. But will it be the actual successor amongst the series games is under the question.

Thermals are definitely wonky and often needs tuning. My powercolor had atrocious thermals till I saw that it was oc-ed past the spec and runs 40% of available fan speed and throttle the clocks in a very questionable way to the spec values. It did work. But seeing 95C on hotspot is not really a thing I wanted to see. Now it's more or less fine in the current age of gpus. It's 83c max with spec-ed frequencies and better fan curve.

This happened before, afair. Games specifically requested newer version of the driver. And there was no workaround. At the time it was also very annoying. Because newer driver was performing much worse on some series of cards. And you practically had to choose do you want to play newer game or you want to have better experience in older game. The issue now though, will they really tolerate llm/advertisement/lagfest/vibecoded mess that is win11, or else. The answer for the most part ofc they will, most of the base is the old dog that doesn't learn new tricks, which is soo damn annoying. But at least maybe some % of skilled users that already have some experience would be pushed to drop win.
