It's also happens when liberals talk about foreign policy. The reduce critics of US foreign policy and NATO "America bad." Which is exactly as reductive as the hyperbolic critique they're trying to make.

A lot of this comes from the community from the streamer whose name starts with the v and who used to go by Irish Lassie. His community is especially toxic when it comes to using the term tankie as a pejorative.

And they don't even keep the smear to people that support the Bolsheviks. They've been saying that about Noam Chomsky and Jeremy corbyn and basically anyone that has been critical of NATO in the last few years.

First of all, they getting all of our data which they can then sell to advertisers. Secondly even if we pay $15 a month for ad free experience, literally 60% of the remaining content is still sponsored videos or videos with endless self-promotion.

Chrome is also depends on ad revenue and yet Google has not only sanctioned to ad blockers but openly promoted them at times.

The idea that YouTube cannot function because tech-savvy enthusiasts are blocking ads is quite ridiculous.

I quit like 6 months before Elon musk ever even mentioned buying Twitter. This is all pretty hilarious for me. Although I did occasionally poke my head in using a front end open source alternative like fritter or nitter or you don't need to log in.

But those haven't been working either because of the latest s***

On this topic I wish there was a definitive place to find Android games that have controller support. No microtransactions.. I will have to download and try again first and then 90% of the time it doesn't meet my criteria for playable.

To me it's still Nova. Ever since they were bought out I've been trying to find a replacement but nothing seems to match it feature for feature. Especially on Samsung or LG phones, I'm using Nova constantly.

I just developed a muscle memory to be able to swipe down or up on any app to trigger a specific task. It allows me to really keep my home screen clean.

I've turned off automatic updates to try to limit branches intrusiveness but I'm eventually going to have to move on.

After that kiwi browser or Firefox Nightly. I need at least one of those. Those are the only browsers that allowed desktop extensions.

I guess I would choose with Firefox Nightly as it gets updated much more frequently and isn't chromium.

Just in general I think we need to associate more with Vaush community who is the only leftist community that recognized the value that landlords and local sheriff's offices provide.

You just need to put more leftist in these sheriff offices and in the US military so we can win the Battle of ideas.

So what if you have to evict your neighbors... At the end of the day you can convince other people at the sheriff's office to vote for Biden and mayor Pete in 2028

I mean there's a subreddit for gaming and then there's a subreddit for console gaming and a subreddit for patient gaming and a subreddit for video games in the subreddit for PlayStation etc..

I understand a little confusion but if anything only having one subreddit for Android was a problem to begin with. And places like Android apps or Android gaming we're probably a little too specialized

To the extent I still have to use it I use red reader or Firefox nightly with an extension that automatically switches it too old Reddit.

I was using Infinity for Reddit but it's going to become paid after July 1st. Trying to detox Reddit not invest in a page third party API.

I watched a night to remember the 1958 movie about the Titanic. It's out this morning on YouTube remastered with color. Phenomenal movie, there's actually no fictional characters or fictional side plot, it's basically just a docu drama. Most of it focuses on the most senior surviving staff member who had a pretty wild story of survival that night.

I think a good source for this kind of thing is althusser and his work on ideological state apparatuses.

They all scratch at level two with deeper grooves at 3.

It's effectively plastic. If I ever did decide to get one I would probably prioritize something razr since it has an external display that's usable that actually has proper gorilla glass.

I'm glad they decided to stick with the 5.9 in variant there was a rumor there and go up to 6.3 in. I really wish ASUS would give a longer commitment to security patches. Not even necessarily OS upgrades. I don't really care if I have the latest version of Android so much as I just want a device where I don't have to worry about security.

Promise me at least 3 or 4 years of security patches and that would probably make the ZenFone 10 my next phone.

I think there might be a correlation with higher education and internalizing doctrinal assumptions about capitalism. At least in the United States. But it really just depends on what you mean. You're talking about formal education versus just learning about class consciousness throats independent study or life experience etc...

The latter is extremely important. The former can be useful but if anything I think it will funnel more people into further accepting the deeply ingrained ideological assumptions of the elite classes.

People do seem to inherently understand that the game is rigged but they have been conditioned in a million ways to either do nothing about it or to blame the wrong people. It does require some pretty serious deconstruction to try to avoid internalizing this.

Yeah those are all huge. Camera app is pretty good important too.

I was trying to think of stuff beyond system apps but point taken

I guess we should start with the obvious which is bring back the headphone jack, bring back SD card support, bring back some kind of reasonable access to the battery... Doesn't need to be hot swappable necessarily.

And then something smaller, something between like an iPhone mini and a Pixel 4a. If it's small enough I would love for it to have purpose-built cases with like a lanyard or something.

Is a big fan of what LG was doing these last few years so I wish the dual screen case was still around, the Hi-Fi DAC, the wacom pen support and the desktop mode.

I would have loved to see a company partner with like moondrop or somebody and release a phone that comes with a parametric EQ and a Hi-Fi dacand maybe bundle it with a nice pair of IEMs

Also had a screen mirroring option where you could adjust the aspect ratio so there was less letterboxing. Even if you weren't using a desktop mode screen mirroring was much better.

I love the pixels astrophotography mode, I would like to see that come to more phones as well.

Yeah it's just crazy that you have to always keep them around. I own a qudelik 5k And I have a couple cheap adapters that came with tablets or something but I never remember to have them on me.

Maybe if you have a wallet case you could kind of stick it in there but otherwise they're just too easy to lose.

Yeah that's my issue these phones are really expensive to repair and then even if you have the money sometimes the parts aren't available. You go to the Samsung or folding subreddits and it's filled with people that are having major frustrations.

That enough the phones have become so burdened by planned obsolescence and repair issues.

I actually like what LG was doing with the dual screen case. Obviously that's not an option going forward but the v60 is still a great bargain today at like 200 bucks. It's on Android 13, worth it alone as standalone music player

Hifi dac...for sure. Especially now that LG is gone and Asus seems to have abandoned it.

Pop up camera Small phone with the purpose built case with a lanyard or something sort of like the ZenFone 9.

Support for either Wacom or USI stylus.

A rugged phone that had night vision which seemed kind of cool

Yeah I just turned off automatic updates on Nova the minute I found out about branch. I'm just going to stick with the pre-branch version of the app until it doesn't function anymore or I find a suitable replacement.

But you're right, a lot of the alternatives aren't all that much better in terms of their privacy policy. Being owned by a shady data company... It's absolutely discouraging. Obviously something like Microsoft launcher probably isn't that much better in terms of privacy of course.

Musicolet has been a real eye-opening experience. It sinks up to recently downloaded music so easily. It's become my go-to for offline music. Works great in combination with new pipe which lets you download the audio version of any video
