I was under the impression that Tony’s is working towards a chocolate industry without child labor and forced labor. But the issue is quite complex and they’re not there yet.

Not saying they’re bad. It seems that they’re doing what they can and according to their website they “lead by example”. But I’m not sure if they make any promises about a 100% child labor / forced labor free supply chain at this moment.

The above could be outdated, maybe they’ve achieved their objectives for their own supply chain already. But I can’t find it on their website atm.

What a great idea! Musk messing around with election infrastructure in the USA definitely wasn’t suspicious.

AFAIK, Reddit has a bunch of Chinese investors. Maybe they care?

Don’t get GoreTex because it’s using PFAS chemicals which are harmful to the nature we’re out there to enjoy.

Sorry but I can’t read past that intro. Don’t doubt there’s a bunch of propaganda out there, but this is don’t tell me Israel is the victim here. Their propaganda machine has been running full steam for decades.

Sure. But I do wonder why he’s so keen to get involved here. Don’t trust it for one bit.

Same.

Getting a bit tired of the brigading against Proton. IMO the negativity is overblown and Proton is still a good option.

But do recommend everyone to get a custom domain so it’s easy to switch in case I’m proven wrong and Proton does turn sour.

The title indicates that Signal was cooperating with Ukraine in the past and decided to stop doing so. But that seems misleading if they were never able to cooperate in the first place?!

Edit: without more info on Signal’s previous responses, this article is not saying much.

“The encrypted messaging app Signal has stopped responding to requests from Ukrainian law enforcement regarding Russian cyberthreats, a Ukrainian official claimed”

“It’s not European (yet?), but Canadian”

What do you know that we don’t know 👀. Would love for Canada to join the Union ❤️.

100%. Lemmy just happens to have the communities I’m interested in.

I remember trying to move to Mastodon years ago. But the main topics in my feed were furries, transgenders and activists.

Not hating on any of those, but it just wasn’t what I was interested in at the time, so I quit the whole microblogging thing altogether and spent more time on Reddit.

Yeah I was surprised as well, but apparently they’re working in a new browser.

It’s an interesting approach where you can take all the learnings from the first product and then put it into a follow-up product.

I hope they’re continuing the ARC direction, just not based on Chromium. But I’m afraid they’re going all in on some sort of AI browser..

No I think they were pretty open about it themselves. Don’t watch John Oliver tbh 😅.

I’m in a similar boat. I always disable this feature.

But I’m also pretty good at avoiding junk mail or unsubscribing from newsletters. So I guess I’m not the target user for such a feature.

Very good gear and they don’t use chemicals harmful for the environment (such as Gore-Tex / PFAS).

Thanks for confirming! I don’t have any other apps installed so didn’t think to check.

Love your work btw. Very pretty and intuitive app ❤️.

Arc is very nice for my workflow, quite a different take on what a browser can be. But I’d say you’re not missing out too much as it’s, unfortunately, no longer in active development.

They still update chromium regularly, but they’re no longer working on functionality or bug fixes because it’s “done” or something. 🤷‍♂️
