I like android better because it has way less limitations than apple. It also seems more flexible as far as apps and customization is concerned.
Pretty sure Lemmy is getting a ton of reddit users now that they pretty much ruined the user experience by making 3rd party app developers to pay money to use their api.
I just created an account here... I won't be returning to reddit!
Call Microsoft and tell them about it. Pretty sure there's a solution somewhere in their update archives!
My girlfriend, her mother and several family members have adhd. It's quite the experience for me beings I don't have it but I do understand it much better than I used to so I navigate the relationship rather well now... but people with adhd fatigue much quicker than people without it. The brain is being overworked and the mental becomes physical.
If you're exhausted, you sometimes don't communicate the right things, you won't normally finish an activity you started and you quite literally feel tired all the time. The depression is like buying bullets with the +p... it's more powerful but in the context we're talking about... the adhd seems more potent or concentrated to the point you become unaware of it often times than not.
Always seeking approval and or justification is your natural habitat... you want to be loved, you're insecure and you just hate that you ended up with this to work through or worry about. When you hurt someone, you typically hurt more because you didn't mean to hurt anyone. Often, you'll lie about something in order to protect your vulnerability or to avoid conflict of any sort.
This is what I have experienced with an adult where their ADHD has gone unmanaged and unnoticed but we're tearing down the walls and she's learning to communicate better as well as becoming more attentive to her condition while accepting it and working a little to make it a bit easier so it works for her and I...
In my experience with her for almost 6yrs now.... once I stopped seeing her as a threat, and when I stopped allowing her to constantly fumble the ball, things started improving but she had to understand and see what she was doing and how it effects people around her and even the responsibilities as an adult. For me, I had to learn how to not speak out of turn, and I had to help her find understanding without becoming insulting and it required me to be more supportive and loving before she started making an effort to cope on her own and willing to change some things that weren't healthy for the both of us.
This is the short version but hopefully you guys and gals understand what I'm sharing.
If you or someone you love has adhd. Wear it proudly! You are awesome and you are important and play a vital role in society. You go through things others don't think about or feel so don't give anyone the power to force you to live under a rock. If they were wise, they could learn quite a lot of good things about you, even if you can't say a whole lot about yourself that would represent you in a good light. In my opinion, you are the light so stay shiny!
How nothing got better and people like killing children in the school system as sport. Oh, and ask this person what pronouns they want for their identity.
Welp... life is just awesome isn't it? Full of mystery and adventure. I mean... this is no crime, it's merely the process of life.
I'm at peace with myself and life choices and have had a rather interesting time navigating my way through all the tough times. With that being said, I think men should be more honest and take the moral highground and delete their egos and pride. Most men seem to be advocating all the wrong things and in many cases are weaker than they proclaim to be.
As men, we're up against a lot and we're designed to battle through just about anything life throws at us and we'll pretty much do whatever it takes to get to the top but the process of elimination can be subject to degradation of a moral climate and standard within our home and work place and even times, we push our closest support back into the corner and keep it chained up.
I believe we've been taught wrong and how important our women are in our lives... especially for those of us who are married... women play a valuable role in our success too and we must find understanding and reasoning with each other as a collective effort to conquer our goals together as we raise our children to have the confidence and ability to help contribute to a broken down society truly divided by the very basic principles we all want to aspire to.
We must hold ourselves and others accountable but do it in a way where we don't destroy one another.
Just my thoughts, nobody has to agree with me. It's just a problem I've seen time and time again as a whole of society with diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
My account seems fine. I was logged out after the hack. I suppose the admins had all accounts logged out so they could fix the problem. Other than that, everything seems fine on my end. I'm using Jerboa or whatever it is called to access lemmy currently so idk what's going on.
It would help if you were a little more descriptive. Like is it something similar to knights of pen and paper? A dungeon and dragons kinda game?
This happens to me often and boy is it intense! For me... I just acknowledge that I am having a moment... it's like waiting for a train to pass. Some trains are short and other trains are longer.
For the long train, I sometimes will go grab me something to drink and maybe grab a snack and go read a chapter or two out of a book that I enjoy.
If you have a companion or close friend or family member that understands your condition, go tell them that you are having a moment. Sometimes my girlfriend helps me through it by letting me tell her what part of the movie is playing. That seems to help a lot but if nobody is around, I just try to get comfortable and I verbally assault the air around me until it's I feel better but that's not healthy, I just don't know how to fix it.
I've experienced the same problem... it's happened to me multiple times.
Just joined Lemmy... had to leave reddit bc they suck now.
I certainly hope the very best outcome for you. I do understand that pressure though. I was homeless most of my adult life and it nearly killed me... infact, I'm still recovering and all that time on the streets with all that crazy stress has definitely helped keep me stuck currently from moving forward as I wish to.
There's really no advice or comfort I know to offer that would be a viable solution. Especially how the world is rapidly changing it seems for the worst. I'm really sorry you have to face this horrible reality. I too feel I wouldn't be able to go through what I just came up out of again.
I suppose all you can do is what you can do and that's about it unless there's people who are willing to help with the things you can't fix right now.
Good luck buddy! I hope it all works out for you!
I was using Jerboa but I've recently installed Connect and I really like it!
I used boost for reddit and I'm very excited to see it coming to Lemmy!
Idk why but, this really pissed me off!
Well, I've had CPTSD since early childhood. Never liked crowds much. Became homeless for 20+ years and I decided to do street ministry to force myself to interact with people no matter how tough it was for me mentally. This was something I did constantly for years and while it's helped me in many ways I still have little desire to be around people and I still kinda find life to be pointless.
But a benefit from all this. I found my true identity and today, I'm at peace with myself even though this strange movie keeps replaying over and over again. It's still uncomfortable for me but I have a much better grip on it than I used to. So I don't have episodes that last too long even though they're quite intense still.
I'm currently playing battlebit.
Yeah... my situation is not all that wonderful either. I suffer from cptsd among other health problems and it wouldn't take much of anything to hurt my circumstances even more.
Not sure about you but all I have left is my faith and I've gotten to the point to where either imma be alright and make it or imma end up in a hole somewhere. At this point in my life, I really don't care which way it goes. I only care about being at peace with myself and others that are closest to me. Everything else can kick rocks! Been through enough!
We can only be the best we can be and we can't undo what others have done in which has created obstacles in getting the help and things we actually need to sustain life.
Again, I'm really sorry you're hurting, I totally understand the frustration! Keep being who you are and try your best to be at peace with yourself because no matter the struggle and no matter our past failures, going through times like this, we just have to do our best to stay as grounded as possible.
Who knows, perhaps this thing you're going through may "Suddenly" change or devolve. Hard to say really when you're so used to getting tough unwanted results no matter how hard you try so I get it.
Be safe out in the wilderness and take care of yourself to your best ability. I'm very sorry you're struggling so badly right now.
thanks for using Leebra!
