It's so nice to see some subreddits sticking to their guns and ideals and push through until real change happens! r/Nintendo is still down too, which was a nice surprise when I was looking around to see the state of my subs on Reddit.

I mostly don't understand why they made so many different awards. I thought Gold was a cool way of a user supporting Reddit while also showing their gratitude toward another user. After all, users cared about karma even though it didn't really do anything so an award was just an extra "tip" of appreciation.
It definitely lost its luster to me though once they changed it to awards and it became messy.
Kutcher and Kunis' phones ringing off the hook right now.
Am I the only one coming away from this post actually impressed with the idea?
Well...it's beans and no poop, really. Or at least less of it.
Then release the audio. Give us the full picture and let the public you allegedly protect decide if that makes it appropriate or not.
I get that police see horrible shit often, but the amount of laughter over the accidental murder of a civilian still seems wildly inappropriate. Guess the person on the other side should quit and do professional stand-up if they're so funny despite tragedy.
End of an era. Much love for Martinet and I'm happy Nintendo is still keeping him around in some sort of capacity! Hopefully this was mutual; him being in a video about it with Miyamoto feels like it probably was.
Really not surprising when they took a planned DLC and decided to charge $70 for it. I know this won't change much for the franchise moving forward, but it's still nice to see!
Ooooh big strong man is so angwy!
Turns out I liked getting fucked so I needed to find another outlet after leaving Spez...
I had nearly the same reaction! Assumed it was Lemmy as well but on a specific app. Hopped in the comments to figure out which one to avoid, very relieved it's one that I'm already not using.
I doubt it will be, but I'm hoping that the parents will be Kitty and Red.
Mods are unpaid "workers" that make it possible for Reddit to be appealing to advertisers and be potentially viable to go public. Framing the story around them gives outsiders a reason to think that admins are doing something that will make their unpaid jobs harder (which is true) and gives them someone to feel bad for.
Otherwise the story is a bunch of non-paying users of Reddit are upset that a company wants to regain control over the ad revenue 3rd party app creators take instead, either through ads on their own platforms or premium memberships. Which I do think there is more nuance because Reddit is only as powerful as their user base so maybe they deserve some concessions, but the average news reader who isn't on Reddit won't understand that.
Just to clarify, I'm annoyed as well and not saying we shouldn't take our contributors and lurkers elsewhere. I moved over to Lemmy as a RIF user and refuse to use the app. Just giving the likely answer to the question!
What's the app that appears to be an Instagram replacement?
I love Dame, but love my Blazers even more. They should absolutely find a good spot for him where he can compete better than in Portland right now, but we still need to get an excellent package back.
I suppose you have a solution and are aware of a candidate who can put that solution into action?
I recognize a call for help when I see one...so no, I will not ignore.
In the school district I work for, it takes 6 years to hit making $60k/year. I work at one of the best paid school districts in Oregon.
We get excellent benefits, but...I can't pay my rent or buy a house with dentist appointments.
Connect is great but I can't get over how ugly I think the icon is, so I've been using Liftoff instead. Turns out I'm shallow when it comes to tech!
Bring out the fat suit!
thanks for using Leebra!
