I’m getting 8-10 year old accounts that haven’t commented for months jumping on any post I make where I mention Lemmy. So far, Lemmy is apparently a place for “CCP apologists” and “tankies”.

I’ve yet to run into any of these individuals. Sounds like some people at Reddit are not so happy.

I was riding my bike and all of a sudden a storm rolled in. I was getting close to my house but I started to feel the air get really fuzzy and the hairs on my arms started standing up. The air smelled like ozone and things really didn't feel right.

I immediately stopped and got off my bike and laid down. Lightning hit a post near me instead.

The great thing about Lemmy is that it's all decentralized. Lemmy.ml mods and admins can't do anything about other instances

It's lousy being blocked by an entire section of the site and now labelled a bigot because some trolls made their accounts on the same instance as me.

They don’t make money off of our regular interactions on the site. They make money by selling tracking packages of users to advertisers.

In an app made by them, they can track so so much of what you do. Much much harder to get data from someone using a third-party app.

These parts all speak the same language so for someone using Lemmy, it feels like it’s all just one website.
