It should be a standard protocol that if a parent is calling a school with an extreme emergency that involves a threat of a mass shooting, the police show up at the scene and begin securing it & hardening it from attack like they were called to an actual shooting.

Whether the school should be evacuated at this point is unclear to me because I am not a security effort. Perhaps it would actually create greater ease of targeting in the event of a shooting and be wrong. Perhaps the best move is to lockdown the school and post police at each entry point in addition to forming a perimeter far outside the school... IDK!

... But you would think an administrator would immediately contact the police and without any standard protocol, they would do something like this.

This is a massive failure.

As a note, I couldn't find this woman's Twitter post after a brief look and I did see other sites say she was apparently not wearing a bra.

The woman is also apparently a DJ.

... As a Christian, I approve.

The idea that the government should run off of some merciless view that the principles of free market capitalism dictate who eats and who doesn't is completely bizarre.

I have nothing against capitalist Christians who think that the principles of capitalism are generally fine and that, otherwise, we have an obligation as Christians to feed the poor and it just so happens to not be the role of government, but any explicitly Christian state has to feed the poor.

I just noticed this is an Israeli source - to verify that this is actual news and not fake, I ensured that there was another source referring to this, and found an article in al-Arabiya.

A Muslim teenager who was nearly strangled by her Iraqi parents in an apparent “honor killing” plot blasted them as monsters as they were sentenced in Washington on Monday over the horrific, caught-on-camera ordeal.

The teen, only identified as Fatima, lashed out at her parents — Ihsan and Zahraa Ali — in an Evergreen State court after they were previously accused of trying to kill their daughter, then 17, outside Timberline High School last October, KING 5 reported.

“You think I’m a disgusting human being, well, I think you’re a disgusting monster,” the teen told her father as she delivered an emotional victim impact statement ahead of the sentencing.

“How can you call yourself a father? You tried to kill me, my dad tried to kill me with his own hands, do you have no love for me?

“My mom saw me almost pass away right in front of her own eyes and didn’t help me at all, didn’t see if I was OK … didn’t even try to be there for me,” Fatima added as she addressed her mother.

The girl’s parents were both acquitted of attempted murder charges earlier this month over the savage Oct. 18, 2024, attack.

Instead, her father was found guilty of assault and unlawful imprisonment, while her mom was only found guilty of violating a court order.

The judge imposed the maximum sentences for the charges they ended up being convicted of: 20 months for the father and just under one year for the mother.

During the trial, prosecutors said the girl had run away from home on the day of the attack because she had been abused and feared her parents were going to take her to their native Iraq.

The daughter told cops that her “father had recently been threatening her with honor killing for refusing an arranged marriage with an older man in another county,” court papers stated.

No, and that is to even be expected.

He was a prophet whose movement had around 120 or so core disciples along with his apostles, plus thousands who followed him about and considered him a healer and revolutionary teacher.

There are people who have done similar things that are completely lost to history other than small records that vaguely outline the controversy surrounding them... We shouldn't really expect more in terms of proof...

But what is unique is the fact that we have an extremely well preserved corpus of text surrounding him. We also have some good idea that a lot of his followers were prosecuted and killed, and never recanted in the process, which might incline you to believe in the radical truth that they lived by.

Of course I am biased - I am a Christian - but it really does just seem pointlessly antagonistic to dismiss His Existence at all.

Imagine how much it promoted these bogus places - all these rich bitch mothers seeing Dr. Phil send some kid to an institution after a 2 minute video meant to shock the audience and 5 minutes of Dr Phil "helping" the kid by teasing out lurid details and throwing out a few aphorisms...

"We gotta send our son to that place..!"

Lots of damage done over the years.

Years of life lost over this silly daytime TV shit.

The good news is that this effect is transitory. Scientists also pointed out that the immune system is constantly rejuvenating. While some macrophages are attached to the tattoo ink, others will focus on their jobs.

On the other hand, some scientists are studying the potential that tattoos could positively stimulate the immune system. Researchers from the University of Alabama found that people who have extensive tattoos appear to have a higher amount of immune cells, such as antibodies, in their blood. They then concluded that frequent tattooing could act as training for the immune system.

However, since there were no clinical tests comparing how the immune system functions differently between those who have lots of tattoos and those who don’t, the above-mentioned statement is not ironclad.

Just amazing - the government literally going to bat for the sake of concert goers who demand hotel rooms.

Can't imagine working through drug addiction and getting clean enough to be given a hotel room, and then eagerly trying to find some form of employment to become stable, and then your case worker is like *What do you think about spending a few days in Aberdeen...? WIth the Taylor Swift concert and all... There's a need for this room for someone else..."

Lol what.

Mystery solved.

Probably told some backroom staffer "If they ever hit for $50k plus on anything, RUN THE ERROR MESSAGE..!"

Machines probably have backdoors for this supplied by the companies who make them, I imagine, and the manufacturer will go to bat for the casinos that buy this shit.

"Of course it's a completely fair machine... and, of course, occasionally random errors in the favor of the casino can happen like this..! These are complicated machines, not just some vidya game..!"

I feel kind of bad for her.

Nonetheless, congratulations to them both.

This is very sober analysis.

From a few other incidents I am aware of, it sounds pretty consistent.

Just curious.. .do schools generally fully cooperate when files are charged over a fight like this?

I actually have very mixed feelings on this... Because you are right: there are aspects to it that look silly and cringe. She also didn't execute big 'power moves' that truly define high level b-boying, but check this out...

Explaining her performance, Gunn said: "I was never going to beat these girls on what they do best, the dynamic and the power moves, so I wanted to move differently, be artistic and creative because how many chances do you get in a lifetime to do that on an international stage?

"I was always the underdog and wanted to make my mark in a different way."

BBC

So, it's kind of an amazing situation.

It's also interesting to see that she has been involved in this scene for a while and has received support from the scene.

More on this stuff:

The Olympic breakdancing community has rallied behind breaker Rachael Gunn, better known by her stage name Raygun, after her performance at the Paris Olympics drew both ridicule and praise. ...

"She was trying to be original, bring something new to the table," he said, adding that he felt sorry for Gunn after seeing the backlash to her performance.

"From our perspective, there was nothing really shocking."

Gilian said that, while Gunn's "level was maybe not as high" as other competitors, the breaking community stood by her.

"That doesn’t mean that she did really bad; she did her best," he said.

"She won the Oceania qualifier ... Unfortunately for her, the other b-girls were better."

SBS

But yeah like, this is wild...

At the same press conference, Sergey Nifontov, general secretary of the World Dancesport Federation, said the federation had offered support to Raygun in the wake of the strong social media response.

“We offered support of our safeguarding officer,” he said.

“We are aware about what has happened, especially on social media, and definitely we should put the safety of the athlete, in this case, mental safety in first place.

“She has us as a federation supporting her.”

If I ever did something so bad that people I didn't know were talking about putting my 'mental safety' first, I would know I had done something truly dazzling...

As someone who has posted & done cringe before...

I will not cast the first stone.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese also offered up his support on Sunday.

“Good on her and a big shout-out to her. That is in the Australian tradition of people having a go. She’s had a go representing our country and that’s a good thing,” Mr Albanese said.

“The Olympics is about people participating in sport. That’s a good thing and Raygun had a crack.

Fox Sports

LOL this language is also wild in its own way because it really is what is only ever said when you have mucked it up.

... And that's not bad to say about the guy who joined as a backup on the Company or Church basketball team that would go on to make some humiliating mistakes on the court....

But we are talking about an Olympic performance.

I would also go so far as to say that the best thing you can really say is just that "Nah, nah, it was actually very satisfactory and good from an artistic perspective though it lacked power moves," and just Chad face it.

(Another article)[https://www.cbsnews.com/... detailing the crime:

Police arrested Davis on Tuesday. The affidavit said he "grabbed St. Clair's underwear and gave him an 'atomic wedgie.' Davis allegedly pulled the elastic waistband of St. Clair's underwear over his head and around his neck."

Oklahoma Medical Examiner spokeswoman Amy Elliott said the cause of death was asphyxiation and blunt force trauma.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Deputy Travis Palmer said Davis and St. Clair were drinking beer on the night of Dec. 21 at the older man's residence when St. Clair began speaking ill about his wife, who is Davis' mother.

Investigators said St. Clair's elastic waistband was stretched over his head and that it left ligature marks around his neck. Blood splatter was also found in the kitchen, the living room and on the living room ceiling.

Don't drink much. It creates problems for your health in addition to social problems. Avoid it completely if you can.

If it's a guy, I'd tell them to be in shape and try some amount of looks maxing and to really put themselves out there. Even if they are not conventionally attractive, you can have some great experiences just being an assertive, kind dude.

Of course, you don't want to give this advice to someone who is a creeper or who has a lot of other things they need to work out, but it's good advice to someone who isn't suffering from bigger problems or has a fundamentally disordered relationship with women.

What also really strikes me about it is that it would be the first thing that came to your mind when designing the vehicle, right, lol...

"OK, if these doors are only power activated and the battery is dead, wyd?!"

No idea how you would consider your product "finished" until this problem was fully addressed.
