There aren’t any. People keep using the app which all friends, family and coworkers use. Those people “have nothing to hide”. And quite frankly, I deleted Signal and Telegram also from my devices.

A VPN is not for privacy. It simply put your front door to another location. There needs to be more done for being “private”. But Mullvad would be a good start.

Makes no sense a subscription for 20GB / 0,99 a month. You better take a iCloud 50GB subscription for 0,99 a month and use Cryptomator to store your files on iCloud. This is how I do it. Even store Carbon Copy backups (through Cryptomator) this way.

Sometimes it just hangs for some second and then I can continue scrolling on my iPad. And sometimes I don’t see the messages area (like now). I just type in the blind. Bit annoying.

Just use encryption like Cryptomator, before sending data to the cloud (so also Dropbox) and you are safe.

You have to do the “install” procedure only once. Downside is when I clear my history and website data, I also need to login again to lemmy. So a dedicated app would be better instead of this web app.
