Gentechnik kann zB auch bei "normalem" Naturschutz helfen, indem wir den Pflanzen zB die Möglichkeit geben selbst gegen bestimmte Schädlinge vorzugehen ohne dass ihr Nutzen für uns dadurch geschmälert wird. Dadurch könnte man dann zB auf den Einsatz von Pestiziden verzichten die auch jede Menge Insekten töten die gar nicht an unseren Feldern interessiert sind.
