He didn't want twitter in the first place. He made some legally binding comments and was legally required to purchase it after meme-ing an offer and thinking he could get away with it lol. Now he's suing the lawyers that made him buy Twitter.

Musk is not a very smart man.

This is freaking hilarious! Even Twitter knows how blue checkmarks are now badges of shame

Holy fuck, I just wanted to read this article and the website nearly gave me an aneurysm! Who the fuck ever thought an uncloseable animated border ad would be a good idea?

Someone pirate the article for the rest of us. Jesus

Yeah, this is giving off vibes of OP trying to show off that they think they are smarter than the professor.

Marxist literary critique is just one vantage point of literary criticism.

I would recommend Terry Eagleton's "Literary Theory - An Introduction". I was a comp lit university teacher and eagleton always came in handy to explain criticism.

I'd say Judo and Jiu-jitsu. Things where you can use your opponent's weight and momentum against them.

Moreover, an arm bar will end any fight.

Ah, the libertarian's fantasy.

Reminds me of this funny short story on the new yorker:

This is such a quality question. But a lot of people are just naming their favorite movies in the comments.

What you want is Moore's Watchmen. It is a deconstruction and reconstruction of the Superhero as an American trope.

What I loved about HBO's continuation is that they focused on how white supremacy is intertwined with heroism, just as Moore wrote in his original IP.

Then you got the Zack Snyder movie which was mostly, "ooh, look at these people with powers fight crime". None of the impending doom of the fall of society from nuclear war and/or fascism, and how the heroes were pointless because they were the ones pushing forward this doom. "Who watches the Watchmen?" etc.

Cool supplementary article: https://nationalpost.com/...

That's literally the first thing I thought of while looking at that picture. There's no good reason for this. Bananas serve many purposes from green to yellow to black. Moreover, that "one per day" gimmick won't even give you the same ripeness.

I see cars as tools. I'm a fuckcars person because I believe cities should not be built to appease roads and cars. Though I do find old cars cool and fascinating, I just want good people-friendly infrastructure in the world.

It was easier to leave digg back then. The 'normie' non-techie audience wasn't as big in the era and they mostly stuck to MySpace and buzzfeed. Digg was where the tech nerds went and thus the nerds had the power.

The non-techies are now the largest user base of reddit and they don't care about the changes and will continue their usage. The executives know this and are moving things to curtail to that audience. These are the same people that don't run adblock or ghostery and will click on ads and pay for awards.

Huffman doesn't give a shit about us or the small niche communities we have created. Forums are dead. Reddit powers Google. He wants to turn reddit into a social media platform, as it sorta already has become.
