Some part of our brains knew we were losing the real people. It hasn't felt right there in awhile. I wonder how many bots we were talking to thinking they weren't.
I've commented more this week than the past year on there.

It truly has been such a pleasant experience. I have commented more since the 12th here than I have in a year from the other place.
The world has lost /is losing a lot of food this past year alone. Saw an article that Georgia (US) lost 90% of it's peaches this season, folks/farms from the Midwest and Canada either couldn't plant at all due to lack of rain or what was planted has died already.
The dam that was blown up in Ukraine ruined a huge area of farming that has global significance as they exported a lot of grains and oil seeds.
Spain is facing over 60% crop failures and the third year without honey.
Cotton crops from Texas and Spain also at a huge loss.
I am sure there's more, this is just off the top of my head. It'll take a little bit for it all to show up, but we are definitely going to be feeling the effects of this by next year I'm sure.
Right?! We call it "The before times" now in my circle. It's so stark, it's similar to how everything changed after 9/11.
Ironically, in my bubble of life/friends there are two camps, like you stated and I am in camp 2016. I always use the night the Cubs won the world series as my benchmark ;) nothing has been the same since.
Exactly! I was a bit on the fence in the beginning, figured I would survive the demise of baconreader and use the web. Then they played the game with blocking the mobile browser, restoring deleted comments and resubbing, which is bonkers. Now with the latest news, there is no way for me to support this company. After 13 years I am done.
Seeing all the recent posts here about people finding themselves subbed to places they unsubscribed from, as well as deleted comments coming back is what sold me to not return at all.
I haven't been back except for a few minutes on Wednesday. Most of my subs I was following were still dark. I had unsubbed from all that weren't participating in the protest (unless for good reason) and may go back to see if I was resubbed, but will not stay. Have also been wanting to use shreddit to delete everything, just haven't had the time.
We can cherry pick the hell out of their bible and start refusing so much because most "Christians" aren't following most of Jesus's teaching anyway. Hate, hypocrisy, greed and judgmental jerks is what I see constantly. So sick and tired of these assholes
Their chicken is nasty IMO. I just got Purdue at Kroger and hour ago and it was 2.99 a pound for boneless/skinless. It's my preferred brand. Butchered well, way more tender.
Finally had time to watch it tonight and I thought it was great.
I feel like what seemed corny or off was on purpose. Spock is on a learning curve with his emotions/duty conundrum and we certainly felt that.
Looking forward to next week!
Not a big fan of it myself, but the best snack ever is some kettle chips and cottage cheese as the dip. It looks weird/gross, yet every one who has tried it has loved it. I usually sprinkle some black pepper on it prior.
Using on Android mobile has been a pleasant experience for me. Just added a shortcut to my home screen. But, I tend to not download an app unless I have to. Years ago when I was on Facebook and Twitter, I always did it that way. I never used their apps.
I am old-ish so I am not sure if that is why when I joined, it was very easy for me to find my way around. I say this because I've been on the internet since the '90s and have familiarity with hunting down what I need versus it just being there in an app.
Ironically, when I started on Reddit back in 2012, I quickly found bacon reader and have been using it ever since. It is one of the few apps I do use. And I will not be using Reddit any other way so I am here for the long run.
My 17yo thought I was bullshitting him when we were talking about these jokes. He googled it and was speechless. I was kinda young when they were popular but remember vividly my uncle's telling them often.
Just wanted to say I agree with everything you said. As a woman who has worked with the public for 30+ years I have never said yes to someone who asked me out while working.
I have seen more people with different ideologies beliefs and opinions have actual discussions and civil debates here since I joined then I have anywhere in a long time. I feel safe to comment and share my opinions because even if someone were to disagree and share a different opinion, I know I am not going to get a barrage of mean and hateful replies and messages.
Prior to 2015, I had friends from many walks of life. Sometimes we'd have some heated discussions, but no one was yelling, being racist, spewing hate etc.
Since 2016, most of my conservative friends actively eliminated everybody who did not think like them. It was mind-boggling how many people I knew asked who I voted for and if it wasn't for Trump they let me know I was no longer welcome to be their friend. I didn't even vote for Hillary and yet it was extremely difficult to even convince them of that. They forgot that there were other people running in the race apparently.
I think if you stick around long enough you will see many viewpoints and discussions here.
That's just it right there. I don't carry my birth certificate with me! We don't have "papers" so how's this going to work? Not to mention the huge swath this opened wide for an easy way to profile anyone, search the car, etc.
Omg that's awesome
Ok, that's fair. I think I got really mad about the trees :/ Especially living where I do. When I am in the concrete jungle it is crazy how much hotter it is.
Regarding emissions, I agree something has to change. On top of the oil and gas, our chemical plants are killing us too. They call where I live Chemical Valley and one town near a huge plant has the 4th highest cancer rate in the country.
Add to that, this is coal country. It's baffling how many people around me are disabled or have lost family who worked in the mines, yet flip out when you talk about taking their coal away.
Diaspora
I actually heard this on the radio yesterday on the way home and it was a great interview. Makes me want to watch the next generation again
In 1988 when I was in hair school and instructor was diagnosed with HIV and was fired. He wasn't allowed to do hair anymore either. Lost his job and cosmetology license. Wasn't allowed to touch people. We weren't even allowed to talk about it. HIV and AIDS were running rampant and it was buried for years. People were treated as lepers. Wasn't until a young boy was infected from a blood transfusion that they even took it somewhat seriously. Only 35 years ago.
Had a friend who died from AIDS in 1992 that was infected from a breast implant surgery and tons of folks wouldn't go to her funeral!
thanks for using Leebra!
