"Peters said HOA lobbyists were making headway negotiating the bill and coming to a mutual agreement, but on June 27, the HOA language from SB 681 was added into AB 130 and passed three days later, leaving the HOA industry reeling. “As an industry, this came as a shock,” she said. “Everyone is scrambling to get a handle on the changes.” Peters said no one likes paying fines, but noted that fines aren’t a money-making tool for HOAs."

If it's an industry and has lobbyists, I would venture to guess that it is also a money making operation.

Not in the great state of Oregon for some reason!

The crime in this case is hitting it with a hammer. Most states explicitly say what methods of take are legal and a hammer ain't one of em.

When I was a server I hated when people stacked their own plates. First off, I found it performative. Secondly it messed with my system. Thirdly it usually produced a 20lb pile of dishes covered in queso, half eaten burritos, and guacamole that was impossible to carry.

Thank you for detailing in one paragraph what I was unable to understand after reading articles about it all last evening.

Hahahaha that is great! I didn't see that until now. It's a gas tank for the snowmobiles. And before you think I'm a fancy boy, they're over a decade old and the only way to get to and from our house in the winter.

The place I work requires that all videos taken on the job be kept for 20 years, but sure I'll take a few hours of my day and delete old emails. Great.

Yeah, that's straight up devil horns. The original meaning was to ward off the devil, but she doesn't strike me as traditionalist Christian. Very strong "what the fuck is this" vibes. I'm confused.

Neither did I. I looked it up. I thought it was fake. Horrifyingly, it is not.

I have Tidal. It costs the same as Spotify but pays artists more and actively promotes up and coming musicians. Also they aren't part of the military industrial complex, so that's cool.

Regulations state to state are crazy. In my state you can bait but method of take is very restrictive. My kingdom for a spear season.

I'm really enjoying Trine 4 (the sale got me). I'm what the kids call a "casual", but I'm really enjoying the puzzles and the combat. It's also a really pretty game.

The current argument is "you give your SSN, address, salary etc to the bank, your employer, the DMV, etc. They all want something from you. The world's richest man doesn't need your money, so why are you afraid of giving him all your information?"

It's basically "if you've done nothing wrong you've got nothing to hide" but with your identity and life savings and social security.

Yes. My wife is a paramedic. I've been in emergency services for 12 years. We go to couples therapy to help keep the stress from work infecting our relationship.

Therapy is generally a good thing, but it's gotta be her decision too. You can't force therapy on someone.

People in the ER see and experience stuff every day that humans are not supposed to see with any regularity. I highly suggest therapy for anyone, especially those of us in emergency services.

I just finished my second reread of Starship Troopers. I've read it in three very different parts of my life and every time I read it, I come away with something new.

I'm currently reading Salt: A World History and listening to The Final Empire.

You can indeed carry a gun in a national park. The law was changed in 2013.

Edit: I am wrong. It was 2010.
