Interesting. Today Reddit sent a new TOS letter to an old email address (I don't have any Reddit accounts because fuck u/spez). The username it referenced was created today. I've never used this address with Reddit and don't have any confirmation emails in my box or spam indicating someone else tried to create this account. I changed the password and deleted the account, but I have to wonder if they might be trying to boost their subscriber numbers for an IPO.

Seems reasonable. Where do I put in my social security number and mother's maiden name?

I went to grade school in Mississippi, (Air Force brat, 1970's) and here are some fun facts:

  • The day started with the class reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and then singing "Dixie."
  • Every classroom had a paddle hanging near the blackboard. The principle and many of the teachers also had a paddle handing off of their belt.
  • The "That's a Paddlin' " bit on the Simpsons was a 100% accurate representation of my first day in school
  • The Mississippi schools were about 6 months ahead of the Utah schools I came from and they made me do a lot of the homework assigned before I got there.

Not surprising. I had some cousins in Florida who were taught in school that the south "technically" won the war. They never could quite explain it, but absolutely believed it.

On Mastodon I heard them referred to as "Twatzis" and "Hoes for Hitler" and I almost pissed my pants.

Couple of points:

  • Wash regularly vs immediately
  • Denatured alcohol vs soap and water
  • A Subaru will actually get you where you want to go when you're driving in the snow.

FAST can help to identify a possible stroke but the lack of FAST symptoms doesn't rule out a stroke. So CVA/TIA is still a possibility along with a dozen other things.

Iran's goal is to damage or sink an American warship without being directly culpable and without risking their own people.

I just went back to Edge from Firefox. I've been a long-time user, but it seems like too many of the sites I use don't work properly and some not at all. It sucks because I've always preferred FF, but I gotta get sh*t done.

“Redress” is typically used when referring to correcting or remedying a wrong or injustice. It implies a sense of compensation or restitution for something that has gone awry. For example, if a customer receives a faulty product from a company, they may seek redress by asking for a refund or replacement.

“Address,” on the other hand, is a more general term that refers to dealing with or attending to a particular matter. It can be used in a variety of contexts, from addressing a letter to addressing a problem. It doesn’t necessarily imply any wrongdoing or injustice.

What!?!? Why won't people pay for a $3500 device that might give you neck pain but allows you to browse the web, watch videos, or...um...browse the web for 2 hours at a time?
