Definitely in making maps, the good old die drop method is a blast.

Also I really enjoy Suited which uses random draws from a deck of card as a core mechanic

Ooh, so a collection is like a starter pack? I've definitely got a couple ideas for those. Wait, what if somebody doesn't want be in a collection? Is it like opt-in or something?

Edit: ahh ok, so there's a toggle in your profile for whether you want people to be able to add you to collections, andddddd you can also remove yourself from one afterwards. I would imagine this might mean that collections can't include accounts from other fediverse platforms though, right? Like somebody on Loops won't have opted in, because that toggle doesn't exist for them.

It "blocks" social media? Whether or not you actually want that, I'm not sure how they could possibly implement it in a way that isn't terrible. Jolla is outside my wheelhouse, but it's Linux isn't it? How are they stopping me from installing anything, let alone these specific things?

In order for things like this to keep being offered, please keep an eye on your local library's board and director. Ours are terrible, and gleefully destroying all our similar initiatives... Recent events have them feeling very empowered to do so.

Void, because it works really well on my super low-resource chromebook!

From the different colors of the two speech bubbles, I'm pretty sure HE'S the human toilet, and she's begrudgingly ok with it. Whereas foreskin is apparently a bridge too far.

Her loss though, more for me then lol.

Ok, take this with a grain of salt because I read about it ages ago in a dubious pop-sci book and my memory is shaky. One time, they tried to gene edit yeast to be able to survive much higher alcohol concentrations. There's lots of good reasons to want to do this... Beer/wine is just about the strongest beverage you can make without distillation of some kind because the yeast dies. Making way higher ethanol yields just from fermentation makes biofuel way more viable. Stuff like that.

EXCEPT... It nearly escaped, and was able to survive on it's own. Yeast is very ubiquitous in nature, so a wild yeast that can tolerate massive ethanol concentrations could conceivably have altered life on earth as we know it.

A cursory internet search isn't turning up anything about this, but I'm pretty sure I read it in the book Everything Is Going to Kill Everybody, if anyone wants to look harder than I did.

I enjoy the deranged erotica, partially because it's good but also because it makes the toxic alpha male/sigma male dudebro types go "no, not like that!"

While i definitely agree, none of this is a deal breaker for me. What is a deal breaker is this: I am on my third Friendica account now because the first 2 instances both started struggling and then collapsed. The one I'm on now is suddenly running very slow, just like the first 2 before the end. It seems to me like maybe they're kinda hard to run?

I think there's some NewPipe-esque app that lets you see those without the app or logging in or being exposed to telemetry, etc. I forget what it is though

This will be very exciting, when/if they ever perfect a photopolymer resin that is formaldehyde free, doesn't depend on fossil fuel byproducts, and doesn't degrade into some of the worst micorplastics out there.

This seems lopsided, there'sย no wayย working in an office is worse than being so broke that a single setback will make you homeless. Unless that's the joke and I'm just dense lol

I love GIMP in general, and I usually don't mind learning new layouts and workflows and stuff. However, I am perplexed by GIMP's default keyboard shortcuts. Like, shift-B for bucket fill, because they needed B for... paths? Scale is shift-T because they needed shift-S for shear of all things? Is shear a way bigger part of your everyday workload than scale? Also 3 different keys is entirely too many for the "Fit image in window" and "select none" shortcuts, I use those all the time.

I'm just picking for fun though, GIMP is awesome and nothing could make me go back to Adobe lol
