Good idea!

Yeah, definitely not just you. There's a thread from 2 months ago https://discuss.tchncs.de/post/59450718 which I think is the same issue, but I really don't know.
Really hope they can get to the bottom of this, something's definitely going wrong somewhere in the chain.
Before I say anything, I highly recommend William Spaniel on YouTube, who makes incredibly good videos explaining why countries do what they do, using game theory and crisis bargaining theory. Outside of YouTube, he's a professor on the subject ("my self-respecting academic alter-ego"), teaching students and conferencing with politicians and governments worldwide. If you want to actually start making sense of anything happening in this World At War, I can't recommend him enough.

Now here's my take. I don't know shit and don't follow the news so take it with a grain of salt.
The reasoning does make sense. Hezbollah in Lebanon attacks Israel often, so Israel wants to create a buffer zone between itself and Lebanon. If they're farther away, they can't cause as much damage.
But if this is successful, will that area stay an uninhabited buffer zone? Or will Israeli settlements start popping up there, like they do in the West Bank? Probably the latter, and Israel has no way to credibly commit to not doing that, even if that's not what they mean.
That said, it's not a region that's very attractive to Israelis, not to mention any settlements there would be the easiest targets for Hezbollah, so only the biggest crazies would actually choose to try to live there. But... There's no shortage of those, sadly. (In any country, mind you)
Full disclosure: I am Israeli. Throughout all my life, but especially over the past few years, I've had to rush to an underground shelter countless times when an alarm sounds for an incoming missile from Lebanon. I've heard the explosions (some of them very close), and I've seen the damage caused. Any government must do something when it and its citizens are subject to this.
But "do something" does not have to mean this. I don't know what the best response would have been, or if there was any road to peace at all, but I know that the current governing coalition is the worst we've ever had and seem to be hell-bent on starting all the wars they can and isolate us from the whole western world. The actions they take are not good, not for us and obviously not for our neighbors.
I voted against them, I protested against them, and I think each and every one of them deserves to be locked up for life. So please don't attack me just for being born here.
I'm sure there's someone out there who needs to be explicitly told that this is toilet paper, not printer paper or newspaper or graphing paper or any other kind. Just toilet paper.
And not any kind of wet wipes either. So-called "flushable" wipes are false advertising, do NOT flush them. They WILL clog the pipes.
I'm probably preaching to the choir, but there's a chance someone learns this for the first time from this comment.
The only thing that works for me is to take it every single morning together with my other daily pill. I take Ritalin LA in the morning and it keeps me mostly functional.
Every time I tried to "only take it on days I needed it", I ended up not taking it ever. But once I've accepted that I'm ALWAYS taking one every single morning, that's not been a problem. Or at least much rarer. If it gets too late in the day before I take my meds (past 14:00 or so), I skip the Ritalin because it could interfere with sleep. But other than that, I always take it.
If I have a day off that I know I really don't need to do anything, I might take 20 mg instead of my normal 30. Luckily I get prescribed both for this purpose, my doctors are awesome.
For context, my other daily pill is an antidepressant, but the same could apply for anything: blood pressure, medicine to control chronic illness, or simple vitamins. Even if you don't take anything else daily, you could start the habit with the adhd meds. The biggest hurdle for me was to accept that I have to take it every single day, and not try to "optimize" my usage of it.
To the spirit of your question, no.
But to be pedantic, yes. Sometimes I pick up a random small piece of filth off the floor or whatever and the toilet is just right there. And when I mop my floor (once every 1000 years or so), you bet I pour the bucket of dirty water down the toilet, and that's not technically one of the 3 P's.
And very rarely, I have a strand of hair that fell from my head (I have long hair) and I just can't be bothered to fight with the physics of making it fit into the trash bin, so I drop it into the toilet and leave it there until the next flush. It's probably bad, but it's a very rare occurrence.
Is there anything I'm missing here? There's no joke or twist or anything. Is it just world building? (Admittedly I haven't paid too much attention to your previous Addams Family posts so maybe this is just how they always are)
Air quotes almost never mean literally quoting someone else. I'd say it signifies that the speaker doesn't agree with the words they are saying. Per Wikipedia: "Air quotes are often used to express satire, sarcasm, irony or euphemism and are analogous to scare quotes in print."
I highly recommend Unexpected Keyboard for things like that. I still wouldn't want to do more though, it's just not a productive coding environment.

Yeah, to say the least. A year or so before the October 7th attack that sparked our country's intentional relations nosedive, there were massive country-wide protests, which I also participated in. You can probably find articles about it (Edit: Here's a Wikipedia article about it if you want a jumping-off point). It was protesting against certain anti-democratic things the government was doing (I don't want to get into the weeds here), but it was also fueled by unprecedented distrust of just about everyone in the government, and most of all Netanyahu. This distrust has only gotten worse.
That bastard should be in jail, but as "luck" would have it, he is always so preoccupied with all the wars he started that he can't attend his court trial where he faces serious criminal charges. What's that? Conflict of interest? He gains personal benefit from neverending war, so he has no incentive to actually end it (be it through diplomacy or through military victory)? Nah, I'm sure he has the country's best interests at heart.
That people keep voting for him astounds me. But we're seeing similar patterns worldwide, most obvious example being USA, so I guess this democracy thing is just failing all over the place this decade.
Speaking as an Israeli, I don't have an answer for you. But you're not alone. I and most of the people I know are in the same boat to various extents. That tends to happen with today's social-media-fueled political polarization.
What I try to say online (if it comes up and becomes a problem) is this is just where I was born. But to be honest, I find that most people worth talking to don't give a shit where you live. As one of them once told me in reply, you don't control your spawn point.
