Ranch goes really well with some things, most notable IMO is raw vegetables and deep fried things. I could eat way too many deep fried zucchini dipped in ranch.

People who put it on everything are weird tho its not that good.

You can, maybe its an Americanism and outside of America you'd get weird looks, but folks is a good way to refer to a group of people?

Yes but valve already has a monopoly on the PC gaming market. Usually companies sell things at a loss to attract you to them so you buy other things while you get the good deal.

In valve's case, we're already in the store buying their games. There's no reason for them to sell it at a loss, because it won't attract people to steam.

Theres nobody out there saying "wow I would be a PC gamer playing on steam if I had a steam specific controller."

Maybe that's the case for the steam machines and steam frame coming up, but I kinda doubt it.

I don't know why race would make a difference in someone's experience on a website given that you can't see the people you're talking with.

Unrelated but given the amount of casual misogyny I see on Lemmy I think "wow, maybe I don't enjoy this place that much." and interact less often because of it, even though I know it's not aimed at me since they can't see me when they hit post!

Oh wait...

So, generally mage is my favorite archetype for games and movies ect of the three listed.

But things get more interesting if I start asking follow up questions.

If I assume I'm getting these powers in our world, my immediate next question for mage is, what type of mage? Because one where I have to actually 'learn' spells is gonna be very useless in the modern world, unless I get a teacher. Furthermore what universe rules of magic do I get? Is this harry Potter magic or elden ring or dnd? using dnd is it sorcery, wizardy, warlock? How competent am I with whatever choice I make? A shitty mage is way worse than a shitty rogue.

Because in some of these cases I really would not want to be a mage. assuming I could pick my magic system, idk. Something useful in day to day life but also makes me functionally immortal? Maybe the correct answer is "The Force" but I'm not a big enough star wars nerd.

Furthermore there are some pretty interesting use cases for rogues in day to day life. I am, poor. Many rogues get invisibility/stealth of some kind. You do the math.

Warrior is a bit harder to justify unless its the type of warrior that gives mystical strength and durability. if I could pick up a car with one hand or survive a bullet to the head through sheer strength, I might pick it.

overall though I think I'd pick mage, but rogue is a close second or maybe higher depending on what type of mage.

I feel like every young person I know watches anime or is at least familiar enough with it to not be judgmental, and I work with a lot of youngins.

It's kinda crazy to me because let's say you do want to be the most beloved person on earth AND you have more money than anyone ever, you could do that?

Like at one point musk said if there was a plan to end world hunger in 6 billion dollars he would do it, and of course he didn't... But if he did, a small fraction of his infinite wealth would be gone, but people would have loved him.

If, Tesla actually produced a fully self-driving electric car that was better and cheaper than anything else, he'd have even more fans than he currently does.

If, he actually created high speed mass transit, instead of whatever the fucking "hyperloop" thing he made is.

He could have done probably all of this for the price of twitter, but nah instead he had to go be a nazi.

Doing like even half this list would make him beloved by the average person who isn't too interested in him. They'd see all the good he does and say "That's what a billionaire should be." and not do any digging. It's honestly batshit insane to me that someone can say "everyone hates me and it makes me sad but I'm not going to do anything about this because clearly they are the ones that are wrong."

Like how do you fuck it up so bad. The first time I heard of the guy I bought into that "elon musk is ironman" persona thing, and now he's just a crazed nazi I want nothing to do with.

Yeah, this isnt happening lmao. maybe people chased him down because of who he is, but everything in that post is complete bs. especially in Wayzata, which is like 90% fancy ass lakefront property. The area is super rich, and I doubt grandpa is out there throwing ice bottles at people with face coverings.

Isnt this dude famous for just making shit up and recording things out of context to fit whatever he's saying?

Oh boy a thread about women's bodies, I'm sure this will be a civil and rational discussion and definitely won't have misogynistic views throughout the entire thing.

Huh til. Never heard this before. Gotta be honest tho I'm kinda surprised its a slur, don't get me wrong I won't be using it, but it does feel like a "good" shorthand for Pakistani.

It's not even that, really, coke (owners of the brand) has been sued and lost because of false and misleading advertising around the brand. It's sugar water.

I grew up catholic and was sent to catholic school and this is what we were taught. That the creation story is metaphor, the catholic church believes God used the big bang and evolution to create the world and people, ect.

Funny enough it actually mentions in the Wikipedia article that most Americans are unfamiliar with the slur. I'll be honest without this thread if I heard someone say it, I would probably have used it unknowingly just assuming it was similar to Aussie or something.

This is not to make light of the slur, but if someone called me an "Ameri" I would probably just assume they're French, which might be meaner than anything they're trying to say to me.
