Screams AI to me lol
@lemmy.ca
As of right now, I'm finding Lemmy has more than enough content for my daily browsing. However, that's because I took a few hours last month scouring as many instances as possible for the highest usercount communities that I wanted to get in my feed.
Reddit has a decent default sub list, and that's what's going to push new people away from Lemmy imo. I was frustrated enough with Spez to ditch reddit and dedicate a few hours to making this my new home.
Lots of people aren't going to want to put that effort in, especially when their feed at Reddit was not effected by any of the changes made.
This comment here is peak Linux, and a perfect example of that xkcd comic.
99% of people probably couldn't even tell you what a syntax is. Let alone how it's relevant to using Linux
What the fuck? Did he just publicly state that a teenager should be beat by his parents for asking a question of his government? Or did I misunderstand the statement "your parents should turn you over the knee"
Uhh, I hear people complaining about those services all the time, see Air BnB.
Regardless, a rental car or hotel is not a living requirement like a semi-permanent home is. Definitely comparing apples to oranges here.
You can acknowledge the benefits to renting while also acknowledging it's an unbelievably toxic and abused system that profits off the poor for the gain of the rich.
Until everyone is housed, no one should be profiteering off thoes that aren't.
It's like saying that you're intentionally not going to get a first aid ticket, so that you don't have to help someone when they get hurt. You can just throw your hands up and walk away while yelling at all the people who do have their first aid ticket that they're doing it wrong.
And then applying for a job as an EMT.
It's comments like this that make me think I don't have ADHD and I'm just a bit slow.
My therapist says I'm likely ADHD and I align with a lot in this thread, but this description is about 1000% more dramatic than my day to day life. I guess it's all a spectrum, but I've never felt like I'm living in a fog, I'm very very aware of all of the things I'm fucking up, but my mind doesn't tell my body it's worth fixing yet.
I never "forget" to finish a task, I remember that task needs to get done every 5 mins after I leave it not finished and it pains me to look at it every time I walk by it. But there are more important things to do. Like scrolling Lemmy or IG.
The church I went too when I was a child hosted Christian rock shows from smallish artists. One of them was particularly mid, and after their last song everyone started to leave without a single person calling for encore. The band ran back out for their "scheduled encore" to a silent crowd and started playing another song while everyone left.
I think about how awkward that was every time I go to a show now.
In best encores, Porter Robinson played Cheerleader twice in a row for the Seattle show on his tour last year since it was going to be the last show with this big billboard on stage that they couldn't bring on the world tour, so he got all hooked back up in his harness and they played it again. The second go was more fantastic than the first.
