I had a dope-ass cream colored shirt from my favorite band, Caligula's Horse. Was devastated when it got destroyed. Now back to all black stuff...

Define useful.

Will any martial art make it a good idea to engage in a street fight, ever? Will any martial art prevent you from getting shot, stabbed, or ganged up on and beaten? No. Your best bet is situational awareness and a keen sense of GTFO.

However, martial arts are physical activities. They involve precise movements, and allow you a safe space to build conditioning. All of that means that, even if the techniques of the specific art you practice are fundamentally useless in the situation, you're going to be just better able to use your body effectively. Hopefully to run.

I'd say the biggest thing a martial art has over a traditional sport is conditioning yourself to take a proper hit. Beyond any technique, the first hit is usually the deciding hit in a street fight. Knowing what it's like to be hit, and being able to not immediately crumble, go further than any technique.

Why are people like this? Shit life syndrome. What do we do with them? Offer them compassion and support.

It's almost like the point is to show that depression is a thing that's not very well treated by having super cool things happen in life. That's the scary thing. Being successful, but still not being enough for yourself. Having friends having lovers, but still feeling like you're not worth the time of day. If everyone with depression only suffered from SLS, depression would be way less compelling and way less prevalent.

I used to think my desire to play female characters was a "closeted trans" thing. It's not. I'm definitely a cis gendered male. I've realized, at least for me, it's more of a self worth thing. I don't want to play as something I don't particularly like, such as me, and so I play something as opposite as possible. I'm working on that, tho.

Boeing has MASSIVE government contracts, and does a ton for both the military and NASA. They're absolutely bailout material, as much as it hurts me to say.

Touch screens are great in cars! For one purpose. The navigation. The touchscreen should only display navigation and function as a keyboard to search it, and only while the car is stationary. Everything else should have a physical control, at bare minimum as "backup"

"just Google it" has always been a shitty reply. People are asking for your opinion because they want opinions from people, not some nameless site/author/whatever. Even if you're just regurgitating information, it's coming from a PERSON not a random article. Never mind the reliability of the source. Heavens forbid that we social creatures social about a thing for a bit.

By realizing that it IS getting better. We live in a world now where information has exploded out of control. What this means is that we now know exactly what's going on everywhere, and it turns out that's a lot of shit.

That shit was still happening, but until fairly recently it was just out of the picture. The average person didn't know about any of it , couldn't do anything about it anyway, and thus it didn't really impact them.

Fast forward to today you hear of tragedies ALL THE TIME. Bad shit happening to good people for seemingly no reason. The difference here is that you just happen to know about it. The objective truth is that bad shit happens less today than it did at any other time in history. We just see every instance of it, not just our local community instances.

Remember, though, that people, opinions, and political landscapes can change. Yes, Biden was pretty shit back in the 90s, but it actually feels a little bit like he's trying to move back in the other direction. Don't gotta forget the bad, but also can't forget the (attempts at) good

Southerner here. I feel you. There's a lot to love about the south. You mentioned the landscapes, for one. We have some absolutely beautiful country. And some of the folks out there are truly fantastic. There's the good ol boys, we all know and loathe, but then there's the actual good ol boys, backwater, country folk with a knack for redneck engineering who just want to get the days work done and go have some fun.

But. There's always a but. I think it is actually largely a red vs blue thing. I'm fortunate to live in a city and yeah, we have some suuuuper shit politicians. Shit politicians beget shit people beget shit politicians. It's a self fulfilling cycle, but man, some of us are really trying to make a difference.

Some areas are moving more and more blue, and in those areas things are slowly getting better. The times I run into that first group of good ol boys is getting smaller and smaller. It does still happen, but at least in the cities it's getting to be the minority. I think we're moving in the right direction overall, we're just a bit behind the rest of the country. Y'all are all welcome in my little slice of the south, as humble as it may be.
