When people say oh firefox performance is like so intolerably bad that they HAVE to use a chromium based browser, I always wonder what device people are using and how many things they got going on in the background. I don't understand why ANYONE would need to have like 200 tabs open at once and even if Firefox is slower loading source heavy stuff by like a second, I think that is a sacrifice worth making.

Personally Firefox has been perfectly fine for me even when Im running it on a Win 11 virtual machine on top of Linux that also has Firefox with 10 tabs open and like five other applications in the background on a very mid range laptop.

I deleted Whatsapp but created a photoshopped screenshot of Whatsapp banning my account so that everybody around me thinks it is involuntary, going to try to get them to switch to Signal soon. Wish me luck

If Edward Snowden uses Signal, we as regular people should be just fine.

I pray to god this app does not take off or else the zucc will be controlling like 80-90% of all social media with Instagram Facebook Whatsapp and this new shit. There has to be some sort of anti monopolistic lawsuit that comes at them. This simply should not happen

QubesOS for security, Tails for privacy. These are both very extreme options though and most likely overkill for the average person

I believe Apple is allowing new browser engines to run on iOS which has lead to google starting development on Chromium for iOS and Mozilla starting development for Gecko on iOS. So even though there isn't any major differences now, there will be soon.

Pixels are the least bloated of Androids fortunately.

privacytests.org is ran by a guy who works at Brave, and they test all browsers in default settings, so for Firefox and Vivaldi all the tracking protection is turned off hence why they do not score well. Vivaldi with the settings turned on and Ublock Origin installed in my opinion is better than Brave.

90% of their money comes from Google funding them so that they are the default search engine. The rest of the money comes from their VPN, Pocket and sponsored shortcuts, and voluntary donations.

Nobody has questioned it yet. Here is the screenshot if you were curious:

I photoshopped the top menu and the bottom and also made the picture the same as my phones resolution so there is no room for doubt 😎.

Hardened Firefox with Multiaccount Containers is the most private daily driver browser you can have

I love flatpaks. They are usually the most up to date depending on the distro you are using, and as you install more and more flatpaks, the size they take becomes smaller. Also the fact that you can manage flatpak permissions through Flatseal is another bonus.

as sucky as it is, if we want Mozilla and Firefox to survive, we have to support them somehow, and this is one way to do it.

It is pretty much impossible to brick up a Pixel trying to install Graphene on it if you use the web installer

I strongly agree with this. Especially when people say you should stop using a VPN because they can track everything if they wanted to. But then your ISP will track everything you do if you don't use a VPN, and if you use a reputable VPN provider like Mullvad, chances of them tracking you are significantly lower than your ISP tracking you, so it is a boost to your privacy. And when there is room to be more private all around without really impacting convenience, in my opinion the action should be taken.

I will find out in a few days if it will work. I am unfortunately in the US so most people just use SMS/iMessage but within my social circle most used Whatsapp. Hopefully they install Signal instead of just texting via SMS
