When this happens, Firefox has been updated in the background & the non-updated parts that're loaded into memory attempted to load one of the updated parts & found that they were no longer compatible, causing this message to appear.

At this point you HAVE to restart Firefox in order to be able to use it, no way around it. Soooo very fun on Mac & Linux since both can update in the background. It's also possible to have this happen on Windows, but it's far more rare as it seems to require having multiple different instances running at once.

Probably specifically because the admins (Spez) don't want people hearing that competition exists

Fun fact, there were still computers being manufactured with CPUs that don't support Windows 11 in 2020, got one of those at work that we will need to replace before then. Thankfully only one, so it's not too big of a deal.

This happens with every corporation after a while. Make a good product -> Get liked / recommended by the community -> Get big -> Get Greedy -> Make products shitty to maximize profit Also often add a 'Get big' can also be 'Get bought', product quality typically drops off of even more of a cliff if that happens. Another big indicator of a company that's about to go to shit would be if they get onto the Stock Market, as once you're in there, making sure that next quarterly profits are higher than the previous one becomes top priority above all else. Anything that takes profits without giving them more money will be dropped.

Every time I've gotten an Amber Alert on my phone, the phone screams the description of the kid & the suspected car & possibly the suspect themselves on top of showing the entire message on the screen. No idea why anywhere would put all of that info onto Twitter only when this system already exists & really grabs your attention.

True, if you're on Windows (Or Mac)

The person you're replying to is replying to a person who is wanting to do VR on Linux, to which the only solution is currently ALVR.
It would be very nice if Steam Link or Virtual Desktop would add Linux support for streaming VR from Linux, but currently neither works.

At least Linux people can stream their Flat games using SteamLink now, just not VR games yet.

Brown hair character (Sinji) goes with Purple.

Redhead character (Asuka) goes with Red.

Blue hair character (Rei) goes with Blue. [I think that her description should be centered on her more as it looks like it's for the white haired character imo...]

I straight up forgot that the white haired character (Kaworu) existed (Had to look his name up)

At least that's if the person making the meme has watched Neon Genesis Evangelion.

I probably should re-watch the show again, it's been a very long time...

Well, it is at least in part how many linux distros configure Grub, it can be set up to boot the last selected OS, which I think should be the default... I changed it on all of my dual boot systems, though I haven't been using Windows all that much lately, so it hasn't been all that big of a deal for me.

I just wish that Windows hadn't changed the default update config to restart no matter which option is selected, since it makes that situation soooo much more annoying.

Just a slight correction, Vista was the last time you could split toolbars off of the taskbar like that, its taskbar was basically the same as XP still. The redesign in 7 was when we lost that ability.

Will say the docked toolbars did look significantly worse in vista as they all got an wide aero border

I remember Vista & 7 both had the Aero Glass themes, a new light blue theme that replaced the Luna themes from XP & the Classic theme. Sure a lot of color schemes & things like cool looking cursors went away, but you could easily copy most of them from older versions. Only limit I can think of is that the blue theme that replaced Luna (And is technically based off of it) sucks.

8 is the version that basically nuked customization with only the new flat theme replacing everything.

Also, fun fact, the blue theme from Vista & the classic themes both do technically exist in 8 & up, but they are hidden & seeing them usually means something is broken.

As for Linux theming, look at DEs other than GNOME, most are still pretty customizable

I'd say that the 'modern' era of Microsoft Enshittification started with IE4 as well as Windows 98. The Channel bar put ads on the Windows 95 & 98 desktops. It was easily disabled, but even that far back, Microsoft was starting to work on making their stuff suck just that much more.

Next was Windows ME blocking DOS access, while still running on DOS, making the OS a bit ... unstable, followed by your point of Software Activation in XP.

Biggest upside of Plex for me is the fact that you can set up secure streaming from anywhere with basically a single click. With Jellyfin, that is much more manual. Besides that, I think some people may like that Plex has its own set of TV Shows & movies to stream, though I'm certain that those are ad supported. (Haven't used that feature & have moved to Jellyfin)
