The gen 1 Pokemon remakes (FR/LG not LGP/LGE). Sure the graphics are better (and in color!) but what really makes them worth it is how they fixed how insanely broken and bugged so much of the originals were. That alone would make it worth it but also adding a whole new post game that was from a part of the anime we never got to explore in the games? That was exciting and fun! Plus as a nice bonus we got all the quality of life features that had been added to the series over the past 2 entries (which makes a big difference), a lot of general updated features from the series like breeding and abilities, and you could move Kanto Pokemon into future games again as the final cherry on top.
A much needed update with enough new added to make it fun to jump back in, and brought up to the features expected of more modern titles in the series that makes it a no-brainer when recommending the way someone should go back and experience the first gen of Pokemon. I only ever play through the originals purely for nostalgia nowadays.
Oh I feel this so much, grew up primarily on the west coast (with some time on the east coast and in the south) and now that I'm living on the east coast again the general quality of food here is abysmal compared to average places I could find anywhere in places like Arizona, California, or Washington.

One time in like 2014 I opened the eggs for a glance to check for brokens at a Stater Bros outside San Diego and an older guy behind me said "yeah, those are eggs, move along" I just turned around and said "yes, but are they cracked?" and then walked off. Hopefully his rude and impatient ass felt stupid.
Anyway, now whenever anyone in my family checks the eggs, someone in the family will, without fail, say "yeah, those are eggs, move along". It's our little running joke and I wish that guy knew that we're still making fun of him 12 years later.
I have this magic blanket my friend made me before she died, idk how she did it but that blanket always is juuuuuust the right level of warmth. It's kept me warm through freezing cold winters in Michigan and cool but covered in its breathable fabric in the heat of many an Arizona summer. I'll never know how that works, but I do know I'll never go anywhere overnight without it.
and yes, it's super soft
I can't program, but I only use Linux on both my laptop and desktop. All I really do on my computers is browse the web, light photo/video editing, print the occasional document, organize my photos, and play A LOT of video games. I was dual booting windows for a bit there for the games that won't work on Linux, but I soon discovered that those games weren't really worth dealing with the annoyances I had with windows for how often I actually wanted to play them... except CoD, but I have an Xbox so I just play that there. Deleting my windows partition was a great choice.
It's my favorite game, but that's because it does a very good job of immersing me in the world, characters, and story. I can see how if you just want to get to the next bit of gameplay it would be annoying, but I really like to soak up a game and feel like I'm living another life in it, so it's perfect for me.
Spotify isn't the only streaming service, it's just one of the worst, like ethically.
and to answer your question there are sites like Rate Your Music that let you find albums similar to albums you like.
Socially acceptable or not, you can still do it, but there will be consequences. My dad would tell me he didn't care often when I talked to him as a kid, he still does sometimes when I try to tell him something I genuinely think he'll like, but I rarely try to talk to him anymore.
